Sorry if I've missed anything, but did we ever get to know how this finished?

Perhaps to try and give an extra element of interest to the Tour of Beijing, I thought I would try and do a brief(ish) analysis (in lieu of official standings, which I understand will be with us shortly) of the possible leaders of this game.

Hugo lead the way at the last update (pre-TdF) and had a strong Lombardia with Samu and Uran on the podium, but have his other riders done enough to hold the lead.

Ryaguas' relies on the WC Gilbert for later part of the season, whereas The Hitch selection of WT leading points scorer Purito surely gives him a shout of the inaugural title.

Without the usual Moncoutie show at the Vuelta can Zam's team hold onto a top 5 performance?

My own team relies on the twin performances of Wiggins and Froome, at the Tour, Olympics and for Froome's part at the Vuelta with some help from Kwiatkowski at his home tour.  Can Peraud score any final points in China?

If AS had anything like a normal season Tuarts would likely have been right up there, with strong showings from Nibali and Rui Costa.

Perhaps a wiining performance from EBH in the Far East, along with a strong late season for Lars Boom, and great 2012s for Henao and Degenkolb will see Timmy win his own game.

Looking through the teams its quite striking how many of 2011 leading riders have underperformed in 2012.

Looking forward to the next update.
After Wiggins and Froome at TDF (also a stage win for Miller, Peraud 2nd on same stage, and dom points for Oss), Kwiatkowski in Poland and Wiggins, Froome and Pinotti at Olympic ITT, I hope I can edge up a few places!

My Tour team did baaaaaaad   :'(

Reasonable hopes for the Vuelta though...

well - a great Tour de Suisse for my boys, but the best is yet to come.   My Tour team will lead the way   (though Jakob seems to have fallen out with team management and will not be contributing  ::))

I think my team should be renamed team j rod, cos he has done far more towards my score than i have. Over 50% of my points come from him.

Update VI

Tour warm-up races see the battle at top tighten up. While DT hits four figures!

At the top things are getting closer prior to le tour. Hugo and Ryaguas failed to pull away from he pack with poor performances in France and Suisse; both barely getting over 100 points for the two races. Sadly hitch and Zam were only slightly better, which allowed Mc Mountain back in the hunt with a very strong Dauphine.

Indeed thanks to his brittish combination of wiggo and Froome MC destroyed everyone at the Dauphine and has jumped into the top 5. The same riders should assure the he remains in the mix during the tour.

In Suisse it was Asssie Goddess who reined supreme with a 'solid' effort from a string of riders (Cancellara, Kreuziger, Leipheimer etc), effectively outdoing Tuarts whom's Rui Costa allowed Tuarts to remain in the overall hunt (6th place). With schleck out, Tuarts will need a huge effort from Nibali at le tour; if this does occur and with Andy poised to combat the vuelta Tuarts could still be a real threat for the overall.

Meanwhile at the bottom of the ladder, JSG has bounced back with a good Dauphine (mainly thanks to cuddles) and an ok suisse. He is still well clear of DT (who incidently, had a succesful suisse) and only slightly behind of Jraama who continues to struggle.

My only Giro rider was Pablo Lastras who got into a good break and crashed out. Awesome.

My riders are peaking for the wrong races.
Why oh why hasn't Tour of Cali (Sagan) and Tour of Lux (Greipel) joined the WT yet?!?! I'd have made tons of points.

Disapointing to see i only won the Giro by 300, considering my entire team was based around it.

Update V

Giro d'Hitch seperates the men from the boys

Whoda thought Ryder Hesjedal might conquer il Giro. Obviously none of us as the newly crowned Giro champ slipped all the way down to a 4th round pick, and it was none other then Ryaguas who took the canadian late in the opening round. Hesjedal gained 960 points in italy, ensuring Ryaguas would remain near the top following a good opening season.

However it wasn't Hesjedal who took most points in Italy, but rather Jrod! The spanish runner up won two stages, the red jersey and many high finishes on route to his incredible 1030 points at the giro. Indeed it was the Hitch who reined supreme in italy; Farrar, Goss, Visconti and Moreno all assisting to a epic 1820 points at il Giro. This performance has taken Hitch into back into contention with 3rd place overall.

However at the top, after a great performance from various riders Hugo is King. De Gendt, Scarponi and Uran (3rd, 4th and 6th respectively) contributing to another big total of 1690.
With Sanchez heading to the tour with big aspirations, Hugo might be the man to beat.

At the bottom of the barrel things are still looking grim for Just some guy despite a reasonable +300 points. He isn't alone in misery, with Bicing plummiting down the ladder after being the only player to fail to score a single point.

But it is DT who takes the crown of fail, despite scoring a massive 40 points at il giro the dutchman is starting to see daylight between himself (right at the bottom) and 2nd last JSG. Indeed the dutchman was seen hanging on the back of the cars during the giro, hanging on for dear life.
