Thats a super Cell, I'm not an expert particularly but yeah they form when cold air hits warmer air in low pressure. Like the shower clouds that sometimes form in Europe after a cold front but a lot bigger. They are quality. Basically its rising warm air condensing because its colder further up. I was using a Video cam which was very high quality but obviously still not ideal for taking pics so they dont come out very good. I was mainly focusing on recording though and was just photographing on the side so it was easier to use a Video cam.
