Who has blocked you on twitter? A thread for sharing our twitter shame or indeed, joy.

My two blocks that I am aware of: Andreas Kloden and Johan Bruyneel.

Kloden: happened during the 2010 Tour de France. He didn't like my remark that the cobbles weren't exactly an unscheduled surprise.
Bruyneel: I don't know. Never followed him, never spoken to him, never @ mentioned him.

Doesn't have to be cycling related at all! Just so happens that the two I know of are. You also don't have to feel obligated to share the circumstances if it is particularly embarrassing.

If you aren't blocked by anyone, good job! :tu

Dont do twitter. Read it sometimes, mostly if i cant find a live ticker to get race info live until a stream comes on. The only twitter i check regularly is cyclinganon.

Dont do facebook either.

Only on 3 forums, 2 cycling and 1 motorbike 1.

I was read-only on twitter for a time but then I realised it was likely easier to just sign up to follow accounts in one place instead of checking individual pages for cyclists (because that was what I was doing most of the time). I like it well enough now though.

Facebook I dislike but my sisters use it and insist of messaging me through there rather than emailing me. I do not understand this logic but it is so.

This is my only forum.

not interesting enough. i do not really say much. just follow people, reply occasionally and a few retweets

i don't block anyone as much as i would like to sometimes. good with the bad. that's life.

the only people i block are beautiful women talking about sex, as i have too much of that in my life already

have been trying to figure out who that follows me is a dodgy bot

when i tweet a link to velorooms i immediately get 4 or 5 guests reading that link. as it is always same number and always instantaneously always think it is bots of some kind. blocked a load of people but not sure what blocking actually does

Matt Rendell blocked me on the 1st day I went on twitter because I was highly critical of his journalism. I have too many people who have blocked me for me to recall. ;D

There isn't any good way to find out if you are blocked, except if you notice that you're not following someone you were previously & when you try to re-follow you get an error message. Or if someone RT's a link from someone that has blocked you, you can get a "not authorised to view this" message. I think it's no bad thing if you've never been blocked.

I am blocked by:
Lance Armstrong - not sure when, must be going on 2 years
Bruyneel - not sure when, I think just in the last 12 months
Livestrong - not sure when. Bastards. A charity blocked me. Nice.
CB - forgot his name. He writes the "Fresh Brew" for all things Armstrong. He blocked me about 3 years ago

Several ardent fans of Armstrong/Bruyneel. This used to bother me because we had some good cycling discussions in the past. I just couldn't keep my opinions to myself and they posted thinly veiled posts about "haters" and "negative people" and so forth. To be honest - one of them I blocked first because I made some derogatory comment about "hilljacks and Texas" and received a DM about my post. I didn't like it so I blocked them, then they blocked me.

Whatever. If you can openly support guns, death row, and all things right wing conservatives support, then I can spew my tree hugging hippie ways right back at ya.

The way I found out I was blocked - click on their @name and if you'll get a message that says
@JohanBruyneel's account is protected.
Only confirmed followers have access to @JohanBruyneel's Tweets and complete profile. Click the "Follow" button to send a follow request.
