Questions and answers about all things computer.

To start:

I want to export music files from iTunes to a USB drive to play it on my car stereo. I use a Mac OS. I can't drag and drop, can this be done without burning to a disc as an intermediate step?

L'arriviste:
Your files are all physically stored someplace on your box. iTunes is just a user interface.

Find them (search for *.mp4 or folders called "iTunes" for example), then copy the files to USB. Check that your car stereo supports MP4. No playlist support etc but that's Apple for you! :)

Drummer Boy:
By default, this is how Apple organizes those files and where they should be:

Macintosh HD --> Users --> You (your name is the default folder name) --> Music --> iTunes --> iTunes Music

That iTunes Music folder will have all your albums organized by folders. You can drag & drop from there.  :)

Amsterhammer:
Good idea to have such a topic! I suggest that the General forum is a more suitable place for it, though.

Oops, that's where I meant to put it. Example #2 of my computer skills. Mods, please and thank you.

Thanks for the help guys, that was ridiculously easy.
