Yep, the A's get talked up every year with their young pitching but alway's fail to deliver, their hitting   is almost as bad as my Padres

Hopefully I'll be catching the Padres in a few weeks  8)

The A's rotation looks weaker this year IMHO, but they'll probably over perform the projections and coast to the AL west title!

The A's are always  trading away players for prospects , the rebuilding never stops with them , they may as well be a triple A team. It appears Quentin is out for the first 4-6 weeks for the Pads so there goes most of our power threat

Given how PETCO plays, I always thought the Padres should focus on small ball. As for the A's, sometimes I think BB loves trading too much hoping for the trade of all trades.

I agree but expert's have been saying Quentin's hitting actually projects well in Petco. BB is strange , always rebuilding but then traded for Holliday out of the blue.

I hate spring training , just gives false hope teams are going to go better than what they will. I am still disappointed Toronto didn't explore more avenue's to get an out and out ace, cause they are getting so close to being contenders.

Yeah his SLG last year improved but still 72 points short of his career high, if he can have a 2011 or slightly better year then he'll be a good add for the Padres, he should get alot of XBH's at PETCO. If only they could get Blanks to hit!

Toronto could've made a trade for a decent pitcher but AA probably doesn't want to give up some of his specs.

A group containing Magic Johnson of NBA fame, have bought the Los Angeles Dodgers for $2 billion. Seems like a good move, well any move getting rid of McCourt is a good one.

How are the Pirates looking this year? Didn't they improve from sh*t to crap last year? :D

They did improve slightly, but some late trades had the reverse effect. Trading for A. J. Burnett isn't going to help that much, although the Yankees are paying most of his salary, still isn't going to prevent another year of being under .500

The good old Pirates, at least they are moving forward though, in a much better position now than for the past 20 years, McCutchen is a stud. My favourite ballpark in the majors as well.

The A's vs the Mariners was never going to be a hit fest , Was hoping for the A's to sweep the first 2 games. The had lots of opportunities last night just could not get the job done with King Felix on the mound.

I am torn tonight , not sue whether to watch the baseball and tape the AFL or watch the AFL and tape the baseball. It's all too hard

I'm hoping they split the series. As for the hitting fest, surely send Texas as one of the teams.

On the positive side, at least he was sacked doing what he pretty much did best throughout his career, throw ice cubes at other passengers. 6 month ban from flybe ;D

and to think it could have been a brilliant career, a case of the pampered lifestyle and not listening to Chuck D and Flavor Flav.

Definitely, competent at so many positions, but he's shown squat since he left the Ospreys apart from his off field antics. He seriously lost the plot once he became a trophy husband for Charlotte Church. The worst case was the dating show, the Bachelor, had to be the nadir for him.

The two would be benchmarks now, you could've done a Bilbo, but you did a Henson.

Monster contract handed out by the Cincinnati Reds to Joey Votto, It's for 10 years with full trade protection(and also covers the final 2 years of his present contract 2012-13) and is worth $225 million over that time. The Reds are going to regret that in several years time, as they're not a big market team and this will seriously hinder them when it comes to re-signing other players/future free agents. The only way this deal can work is if they win a couple of World Series, within the next few years, otherwise they'll be stuck with an overpaid 1B(which is on the defensive spectrum is the 2nd easiest position to play)who's power and production has declined and with no way of moving him.

That's the Boston Red Sox, and their ballpark Fenway has a huge green wall that's called the monster.

Well opening day is here , Taping the Marlins and Cardinals on my Foxtel IQ to watch when I get home from the gym.

Good to see my Padres on TV tomorrow morning at home to the Dodgers as well.

It's getting close to play-off time in the NHL as well , hopefully the Sharks can squeeze into the play-off's and make  run at the Cup.

I also hope anyone but Tiger wins the masters

I am already going insane watching the Padres and it's only game one of 162. Crucial errors and unable to get any offense going. Same old Same old I know . To make it worse though Volquez walks four in one innings including 2 runs.

It's going to be a long year again me thinks.

Hopefully the Sharks can get a win today in the NHL and clinch a playoff spot.
