Oh and sorry for referring to 'the other side' but this is one area they still got us beat. in fact with regard to wheels they got us massively beat. that and snark seem to be their specialities.

http://forum.cyclingnews.com/showthread.php?t=14963&highlight=aksium&page=2

that is thread where i asked a couple of questions about mavic wheels (before kiwirider so rudely hijacked the thread  :D)

and if you look in there are a few places where they say they are not that strong and should not be used for commuting

Nice, always had a soft spot for Look.

Get out and have a tour even 20 km with Mrs Larri.

feel a little burn and the lower back working - makes the trainer easier imho
Fignon - In my day, doping methods were derisory and the riders´exploits were massive.
For the last 15 years or so  it has been the other way rond: there is a huge number of ways in which riders can dope, and any exploits are derisory.

Don't laugh - don't forget that my only earlier reference is steel and alu - but this will be OK on the turbo, won't it? I've been watching Mrs L'arri get on the turbo and ramp up her revs on her spanky alu Canyon and it's scary how much that thing flexes.   :o

Thanks, man! It's a 586 UD with Athena and Chorus mix. Surprised by the Athena quality: lots of carbon for a midrange group. Couldn't afford full Chorus ;)

Frame is lovely. Really impressed but still trying to get used to the scary lightness of the front end.

Not Cofidis level yet, AG, but getting there. Mrs L'arri did a couple more pics so I'll post them shortly.

The weather is crappy here atm plus I'm a desk slave, so I've only done a couple of rides out so far but I do about 16km / 10m twice a day on the turbo most days. Basic pyramid stuff.

I never use my carbon on the Turbo, I worry about it getting too flexy just like the alu frame

Since I wrote that, I've been on it pretty much every day for the last two weeks. It's fine. Bit of flexing in the seatpost but nothing to worry about so far. Perhaps it's better that the seatstays split into two lower down.

I was 'this' close to buying another bike today. I skipped the long haul Tour viewing and went to Van Eyck in Aalst on a supercrap weather / big sale combo instead.

It was a 2011 Ridley X-Fire with Veloce. Really nice and unusual to see Ridley CXs with Campag gruppos. Bargain at just €1,099. Here's one with the standard SRAM Rival option:

But I held back. With some difficulty.

Picked up some cleaning stuff and lube (all Morgan Blue) and a Tacx Spider t3050 stand for cleaning / maintenance:

First went to Godeau at Sint-Genesius-Rode (crap store - all bikes, no bits) and thereafter Van Eyck and a couple of "other" shops for our "other" business. Still got back with 10km to go.

This evening, I finally bought a Garmin 800 (details on the relevant thread):

And having tried on the shape at Van Eyck, I customised and bought these direct (and delivered free) from Oakley:
