Here are the current 'bottom 10' :

177   Andreas Schillinger (Ger) Team NetApp   1:52:04
178   Alfredo Balloni (Ita) Farnese Vini - Selle Italia   1:53:43
179   Jack Bobridge (Aus) Orica GreenEdge Cycling Team   1:58:28
180   Alex Rasmussen (Den) Garmin - Barracuda   1:58:48
181   Adrian Saez (Spa) Euskaltel - Euskadi   1:58:50
182   Andrea Guardini (Ita) Farnese Vini - Selle Italia   2:08:14
183   Theo Bos (Ned) Rabobank Cycling Team   2:08:27
184   Taylor Phinney (USA) BMC Racing Team   2:09:59
185   Jeremy Hunt (GBr) Sky Procycling   2:11:48
186   Miguel Minguez Ayala (Spa) Euskaltel - Euskadi   2:15:27

Hunt won't finish, Bos won't finish, Rasmussen won't finish. I don't know the first thing about Minguez but he seems to be well positioned. Taylor Phinney is determined to finish this Giro I think, he might be a good candidate.

I think Rasmussen will want to finish and have shot at winning the final TT.

He finished second last year.
I think Phinney and Bobridge will want to finish for that reason among others.

Except he may be top 10 in the ITT so that must cont against him on the comp, if he makes it to Milan.

Although he maybe 1 hor behind 2nd last by the time people drop out.

I do have a feeling though he will struggle to make a time cut
Fignon - In my day, doping methods were derisory and the riders´exploits were massive.
For the last 15 years or so  it has been the other way rond: there is a huge number of ways in which riders can dope, and any exploits are derisory.

Minguez still has some energy left, he keeps going in breaks. He's not a bad climber, too, I think he's taking it very easy after he's dropped.

I say Schillinger will be our man!

Saez and Minguez seem to have been either in the break or doing nothing at all, if this trend they maybe a chance although getting in a break on a mountain day might mean they finish well ahead of the grupetto and rule themselves out.

I am thinking Guardini and Bos will not make it to Milan even if they try, the will miss time cut.

Not sure how Phinney's ankle is, if it is still a bit suspect climbing lots may put it under more strain than it really can stand. However having got this far I think it should be okay.

I think some of the Netapp riders will not make Milan, the German riders especially might struggle so Schillinger might not be there.

Probably Phinney.    Jez Hunt is in contention considering he's been working his socks off.
