It's a shame Koenig isn't riding, Barta is good but Leonig is pretty much NetApp's only decent rider. Sort of like a poor man's Farnese if Gatto was the only name of note they had in their entire squad. Posted by: Capt_Cavman« on: May 04, 2012, 11:50 »...That is bad news bears. Not that Jeremy Hunt isn't quality but that's rotten luck to have that happen on the eve of a grand tour. It's also bad luck for team GB as they try and get as many riders into the World's as possible. It's highly likely that Swift would have scored UCI points somewhere en route. On the plus side, the team now looks more balanced. They could have replaced Swift with another sprinter after all, but went with a rouleur. Tannar out for Saxo - Australian cyclist David Tanner has been replaced by Ukrainian Volodymir Gustov for the three-week Giro d'Italia, the Saxo Bank team announced on Sunday http://wwos.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8459209 Posted by: brassyn« on: May 03, 2012, 20:24 »Anyone know why Leopold Konig is not in the Netapp squad? I remember reading something about recurring back problems and not thinking a three week tour would be beneficial for him. Actually, here is an interview where he discusses it, something to do with a "bulging disc": http://www.teamnetapp.com/en/news/detailview/news/leo-koenig-about-the-reasons-i-cant-compete-in-the-giro-ditalia/ Swifty Bits breaks shoulder out of the Giro That is bad news bears. Hunt to replace Ben for team SKY Posted by: Jamsque« on: May 03, 2012, 09:51 »Well depending on what startlist you were looking at it is either Fischer or Howes out of the team as well as Dekker. This one came from CN Posted by: Arb« on: May 03, 2012, 07:48 »Been sick/injured so not enough racing in his legs to be any good.

What is your source? I know this squad is up on cyclingfever but they appear to have got the Garmin squad wrong a couple of times. Not sure I believe them until it is up else where. Normally I would. Jack Bauer Tyler Farrar Ryder Hesjedal Robbie Hunter Ramunas Navardauskas Alex Rasmussen Sebastien Rosseler Peter Stetina Christian Vande Velde Can't tell if Dekker's place went to Rosseler or Navardauskas Posted by: benotti69« on: May 02, 2012, 21:51 »Did you write that yourself. Nah it is off their website. ;D Posted by: DinZ« on: May 02, 2012, 02:50 »Nah, I checked. He is good and aiming high. He is basically Schleck at the Giro, his whole season is based around it, only without the fanfair. Oh and without the looking around to see where your teammate is. oh so that is why he did not see Roche..... Also Ulissi also got his stage win by dq. Their only non dq win at the Giro since 2008, is Pettachi last year who ironically could have been dqd but wasn't. Posted by: DinZ« on: May 02, 2012, 02:22 »there is only 8 riders listed there.
