Ivan Basso
Valerio Agnoli
Eros Capecchi
Damiano Caruso
Cristiano Salerno
Sylwester Szmyd,
Maciej Bodnar
Paolo Longo Borghini
Fabio Sabatini.

Is that the confirmed line up pending them all being crash free between now and Saturday?

Do you think Nibali prefers a crack at the TdF rather than il Giro?

Yep, the official line up. On their website. I think this year it's a bit like the last hurrah for Ivan at another  Gt win, so everyone is playing along or things are planned that way. i maybe wrong though.

http://www.radioshacknissantrek.com/news/frank-schleck-will-lead-radioshack-nissan-trek-tour-italy-team

“My season was directed at peaking in the Tour”, said Fränk Schleck. “but when you think about it, this situation creates opportunities. For sure, I will come to the start with a different preparation than the other GC riders, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. My condition is not so bad and it can only grow the coming weeks. The Tour of Italy is one of the big monuments of cycling as well, so it is at least a big challenge for me.”

“I see a lot of opportunities for Fränk as well as for the team”, commented Team Manager Johan Bruyneel. “Fränk is a born leader and a team needs a leader. Moreover – though bad luck and circumstances did not provide the right results - he has shown in the last few weeks that his condition has already reached a high level. I am confident he can surprise us in the coming weeks. It all reminds me of the 2008 Tour of Italy when, one week before the start, we got an invitation for the race. In the end we won the Overall.”

Can CONI do a Valverde on F Schleck?  ::)

Putting that aside, it's true. Basso will be aiming for a similar peak. If Frank is only in average form he still shouldn't lose much time in the first two weeks. Stage 14, the first place where serious gaps "might" open up - that is three weeks away. The race will not be won there in any case, and the Queens are still a few days later. I think you'd rather be Frank or Basso, than Evans in 2010. If you're coming off your peak by the time the race gets to Mortirolo, you're gone.

I do not think Frank will win, but for other reasons, we can't ignore him based on his preparation alone. He's had some solid race days this season so the base should be there.

yeah I thik Frank has a genuine shot at the title here.

great back up with Klodi ... a lot will depend on how the TTT goes, but he would be a far, far better chance than Rujano

Cant see Shcleck doing anything at Il Giro. Lots of riders have underestimated this race as a GT. IT can be vicious and the Italians and Italian teams get very motivated for it.

Garmin is now listed with 9 riders on cycling fever. Stetina, Bauer and Howes added to the previous 6.
Talansky to do the Tour perhaps??? Also Millar, Le Mevel, Navardauskas and Danielson.

How sweet it is to omit the 's' at the end when talking about the (a?) Schleck(s)

I'm not sure I use Schlecks too often.

Shame for Thomas Dekker,   Talansky is bang on form but destined for the Tour I'd imagine.  Maybe Howes can come in.

Howes already doing the race.
I guess Dekker was going as a climbing domestique of sorts. If they want to replace him with one then Talansky or Le Mevel are obvious, but both probably Tour bound. Is Dan Martin also Tour bound
It might be Rosseler who was on the cyclingfever startlist when they only had 6 riders a couple of days ago. I wonder also about Peterson, did the Giro last year but has not raced much this year. I would like to see Haas get a go but a bit tough if he has not been preparing for it.

My guess is it will be Rosseler.

EDIT: The squad listed above in this thread has Fischer in the team while the cyclingfever startlist has Howes in the team. Not sure what is correct but if Howes is not in the team then it would be good to see him replace Dekker.

Did anyone post AG2R's team? Dupont doesn't really have any helpers (Monatguti?) and they have Belletti for the sprints.

Manuel Belletti
Julien Berard
Guillaume Bonnafond
Hubert Dupont
Ben Gastauer
Gregor Gazvoda
Matteo Montaguti
Mathieu Perget

What. Is this a joke?

 Where is their leader?
Despite the self-serving data benders and associated propaganda to the contrary, I am led to believe that there are pockets of organised, highly sophisticated dopers, even within 'new age' cycling teams. Personally, I don't accept that the 'dark era' has ended, it has just morphed into a new guise.

Joke or not I don't know but Gadret is on every startlist I have seen.

As far as help for the mountains Bonnafond and Perget were reasonably strong during the Vuelta last year so could provide some support.

The Lampre-ISD squad a short bios

- Matteo Bono: born in 1983, pro since 2006, 4 victories in career. Fourth participation in Giro d’Italia. His generosity is huge as his skill in analyzing in a clear way all the race situations.

- Damiano Cunego: born in 1981, pro since 2002, 46 victories in career. Eigth participation in Giro d’Italia. The 2004 edition winner (in addition to 4 stages), this year won one stage in Giro del Trentino, obtaining also the second place in the overall standing: he approaches Giro d’Italia relying upon an increasing condition.

- Adriano Malori: born in 1988, pro since 2010, 2 victories in career. Debut in Giro d’Italia. The Italian time trial champion will be the point of reference for the team time trial in Verona and he’ll have the chance to make the assault to the time trials of Herning and Milan.

- Przemyslaw Niemiec: born in 1980, pro since 2002, 14 victories in career. Second participation in Giro d’Italia. He’s a climber that can set an irresistible pace and in 2011 he was one of the best domestiques on climbs. He trained hard in the first part of the year in order to be ready for the Giro.

- Daniele Pietropolli: born in 1980, pro since 2003, 9 victories in career. Fifth participation in Giro. Traditionally he’s very competitive in the early part of the season, but in the 2012 he showed an outstanding fit also in the Ardenne Classics. He’s very competitive on mixed courses and he’s quite fast in the sprints.

- Daniele Righi, born in 1976, pro since 2000, 2 team time trials victories in career. Fourth Giro d'Italia for him, the wisest cyclist of the team. He's very useful in order to approach every difficulties.

- Michele Scarponi, born in 1979, pro since 2002, 24 victories in career. Eight participation in Giro d’Italia. He’s the defending winner of the Corsa Rosa and he chose to accept the challenge of trying to conquer again the Giro d’Italia after that he received the 2011 title after it was stripped from Alberto Contador.

- Alessandro Spezialetti, born in 1975, pro since 1997, 1 victory in career. Fourteenth cap in Giro d’Italia. Lampre-ISD can’t renounce to the experience that Spezialetti assures to the team, in order to have a solid base for the Giro.

- Diego Ulissi, born in 1989, pro since 2010, 6 victories in career. Second participation in Giro d’Italia. As rookie in the Pink Race, he obtained immediately a stage victory. Thanks to his versatile class, he’s the surplus value of the team.

Did you write that yourself.

Also Ulissi also got his stage win by dq.

Their only non dq win at the Giro since 2008, is Pettachi last year who ironically could have been dqd but wasn't.

Nah, I checked. He is good and aiming high. He is basically Schleck at the Giro, his whole season is based around it,  only without the fanfair. Oh and without the looking around to see where your teammate is.
