Final Garmin Squad:

Jack Bauer
Tyler Farrar
Ryder Hesjedal
Robbie Hunter
Ramunas Navardauskas
Alex Rasmussen
Sebastien Rosseler
Peter Stetina
Christian Vande Velde

Can't tell if Dekker's place went to Rosseler or Navardauskas

Well depending on what startlist you were looking at it is either Fischer or Howes out of the team as well as Dekker.

What is your source? I know this squad is up on cyclingfever but they appear to have got the Garmin squad wrong a couple of times. Not sure I believe them until it is up else where. Normally I would.

Ah, looking much better for the TTT if that's their final squad.

Anyone know why Leopold Konig is not in the Netapp squad?

Been sick/injured so not enough racing in his legs to be any good.

Swifty Bits breaks shoulder out of the Giro

Hunt to replace Ben for team SKY
Fignon - In my day, doping methods were derisory and the riders´exploits were massive.
For the last 15 years or so  it has been the other way rond: there is a huge number of ways in which riders can dope, and any exploits are derisory.

I remember reading something about recurring back problems and not thinking a three week tour would be beneficial for him.
Actually, here is an interview where he discusses it, something to do with a "bulging disc": http://www.teamnetapp.com/en/news/detailview/news/leo-koenig-about-the-reasons-i-cant-compete-in-the-giro-ditalia/

That is bad news bears. Not that Jeremy Hunt isn't quality but that's rotten luck to have that happen on the eve of a grand tour.

It's also bad luck for team GB as they try and get as many riders into the World's as possible. It's highly likely that Swift would have scored UCI points somewhere en route.

On the plus side, the team now looks more balanced. They could have replaced Swift with another sprinter after all, but went with a rouleur.

Hahaha, way for blinkered subjective fanaticism to get in the way of understanding a joke. Too subtle I guess.

It's a shame Koenig isn't riding, Barta is good but Leonig is pretty much NetApp's only decent rider. Sort of like a poor man's Farnese if Gatto was the only name of note they had in their entire squad.
