Wow, First Durbridge and now Kent. WA conspiracy or what?

I wonder what the Track Team selection criteria. Am I completely senile in thinking that only those 4 selected for the TP are eligible to be nominated by CA for the other events?

not sure what you are asking, are the 3 riders in team pursuit only riders allowed in other olympic events (sprint etc) or are they only ones that can go to worlds etc. Answer in both cases is no but teams seem to be telling riders who are in now so that those that are out of team events can maybe focus else where (e.g. Ben Swift now knows he is only outside chance for TP)

    no
so i reckon the squads will probably be about 7

    3/4 for Team Pursuit
1 for omnium (this is the only other endurance event that could double up with team pursuit but get the feeling some teams are taking a specialist. For Gb think Ed Clancy may do both)

    3 for team sprint
1 Keiren and 1 for sprint but think both of these will come from team sprint team.

in theory they could take 10 different riders

Of course, if this turns out someday to be the industry standard integrated handlebar-computer-braking solution then I'll eat my kevlar-reinforced aerodynamic hat.

Must have missed this latest bit on the Van der Vorst story. Not sure it amounts to a hill of beans but perhaps everyone got a bit carried away with publicising a miracle when the truth, as so frequently happens, is rather less straightforward and much less Hollywood.

Yep. Too many 'miracle' stories in sport required by the media. They think the truth too boring.   :fp

West Australian cyclist Melissa Hoskins has continued her strong form, winning the three-day Tour of Chongming in China.

The Orica-GreenEDGE rider won the final stage and used time bonuses to make up a three-second deficit on Italian Monia Baccaille to take the overall title by just one second.

Hoskins had also won the opening stage two days ago.

    Advertisement: Story continues below
The West Australian will ride on the track at the Olympics as a member of Australia's team pursuit squad, which has made substantial improvement this year to put pressure on Great Britain.

Australia won silver behind the British in the team pursuit at last year's world championships in Melbourne.

On the road, Hoskins also won the Jayco Bay Classic overall title in January.
