I see skies of blue and clouds of white
« on: January 30, 2012, 08:48 »
We have got a thread for venting, what about a thread for sharing those times when life is sweet?

My offering:

It's summer in Melbourne. Being on the bike today was a joy. The sun was shining, the warm wind was caressing. Wonderful.

And the fruit that's around at the moment: mango, pineapple, peaches, strawberries, pears, kiwifruit, apricots. Yum.

The little chihuahua dog had 3 puppies this morning. pictures soon

EDIT: One puppy didn't make it through the night. It was very under sized with poor development and pink eyes and deformed ears. Mama rejected it. Now I'll take some pics. :(

    Well done Havetts!

And Krebs, how exciting! Last year I had a holiday in Thailand, and the biggest drawcard on the beach were the pups of a beach vendor. They were so little and wobbly and cute and had sweet-nothings mumured at them in numerous languages.   ;D

How are they getting on? And mama?

After days of rain, i have just spent 3 hours riding round my favorite cycling route on a beautiful australian summers day.

just perfect, sunny, hot, breeze to cool you down. and after 4 days off the road the legs felt great.

and to top it off am now heading to a very beautiful beach with a couple of very beautiful ladies.

    great day

Feeling like spring is coming...it's been a mild winter but seriously baad winds many days..
Here is what makes me happy--- when I can run out here before the hot summer and snakes come out

running keeps my head on straight
riding makes me happy but different than a run... :)

I am thankful my legs can still run (even slowly)

When I was at my brothers for Christmas he had wro7ght iron candle sticks with white candles in his fire place in the living room. I thought I would try it here a little different.

I'll add some more rocks and such to make it more interesting. I sat in my recliner listening to classic rock in front of my roaring candles. And need to make them flicker a little.

Like it says in the title.
Went wandering about the yard this morning with my camera. Spring is upon us here in Baja.

Neighbor gave us 2 peach trees. looks like they may take awhile.

Compost pile has reached the top of the wall 3 times. compost on bottom should be awsome. piles about 3 years old. New compost pile will be to the left. going to build container from old pallets a screen over the top and getting a chipper/shredder to get things down to size

Always fun getting a window into Kreb's world. How're those pups getting on, Krebs?

Insights into Krebs' world must certainly have made Tony's day today.

It has been a couple of months since I saw anything but blue skies and saw my first white cloud in a week today. It's getting better now.

I don't live an interesting enough life to share a fantastic anecdote.

Marvellous weather today and I'm finally rediscovering my mojo after several bad weeks.

What's more, there's only three days to work this work since the behemoth is closed from Thursday.

We didn't plan any visits - though the Normandy coast was on the agenda at one point before hospital - so I think I may try to write a story. I haven't written anything since last spring, so maybe I should get started again. :D

Avenue de Artisians, Popotla, BCN, Mexico
Driving back from grocery shopping I thought I would snap some pics of the local art work. This is across the street from Fox Studios where parts of Titanic and Pirates of the Carribean were shot.

When I first moved down It was mainly dinosaurs

Stagecoaches have appeared in the last few months

    The fierce Baja Bison

Too big for my living room

I just thought the dog on the stagecoach was a nice touch

And of course a zebra. a while back there was a 15ft tall mickey mouse.

Basket weavers on the side of the road. I bought new laundry basket like the one on the far left for $15USD

No more banks for a while, that's as good as it can get. And it's 8 in the morning and I will be perennially optimistic about the weather till it gets shattered mid afternoon.

KK, What a crazy collection of sculptures!   I love the photo of the basket display and vendors.

I get an enormous amount of pleasure from watching such things appear and disappear over time. Your story reminded me of a time about 5 years ago in my suburb. Abandoned furniture or mattresses that would appear overnight, and perhaps be gone just as quickly, often had stencilled slogans on them. I experienced a silly amount of joy in the discovery of new incidences, and began to rush home for my camera as I discovered them.

A couple of years later I met the artist who did the stencilling. She described an oddly similar experience, in which she would suddenly come across newly abandoned furniture and rush home for her stencils.

Sizz, just saw this series!  :)
how cool is that....one of those little quirky life happenings that make us smile or kind of yank you out of a doldrum  ;D

This pic made me laugh today....the bear was tranque'd as he was in town near the university dorms--- funny because they made sure he had a soft landing on a pad

they took him out of town and released him in a bear area so a good end...as long as he doesn't wander back!

LOVE the arms and legs on this pic

That is indeed a funny photo.   Something about those splayed arms and legs mid-air.   ;D

We don't have bears in Australia, and it's hard for me to get my head around the idea that is a REAL bear. I keep thinking it's someone dressed in a bear costume.  I have to keep looking at the scared-looking policeman (?) in the bottom left hand corner to convince myself its real.  :)
