Does it not rain in the correct holes in Britain? Anyway, cricket season looks absolutely screwed.

Ridiculous day.  Blazing sunshine, to torrential rain, to hail, to a howling gale and back to glorious sunshine again.  All in the space of about an hour.

    Yep, its chucking it down....

Only thing I am glad of is that it happened today.  The original long range forecast called for it to hit on Sunday - when i am doing a 5 hour ride...  As it is, today I am riding in the rain and I hope that tomorrow I can dry out a tiny bit...

Friday turned out to be the coldest day in four years, the coldest May day in 12 years and the wettest May day in 17 years. I can't remember the last time I saw rain that heavy.

Yep, winter is coming our way. It's mild compared to yours though - temps are usually between 13-17 deg C (day time max). Night time temps usually between 4 and 8 deg C. Something like that.  I think it last snowed in Melbourne in 1951, although hills outside Melbourne get some snow, and we have snowfields a few hours away which have more snow than usual at this time of year.

Dodgy, if it's the wettest day in so many years, how are the flood threats there?

Weather calmed down here, 37C only expected today, and the nights are a grouse temperature.

No flood threats as far as I know. Hmmmm, pondering the flood question ... I think floods in Victoria happen after snow melts in Spring, or if we are affected by cloud mass from the tropics. Too early for snow melt, and this weather system was from the south, not the north, so no floods. I think.   ???  :-\  ;D

The sun has showed up with trepidation this morning here in Brussels. There's a coolness in the air after last night's heavy rain but we have reason to be hopeful. I heard Sunday will be crapanory.

Lot of dust in the air down here in the Europesewijk. This is mostly thanks to the ridiculous amount of building (still) going on.

A low has tracked south from near the tropics & merged with an approaching cold front causing a rapid deepening. 110km/h+ gusts in Bunbury atm, I can only remember one storm as bad as this in the 12 years I've been here.
