I think most people around the sport at the time thought that every element of Linda MaCartney was too good too be true.

The whole sponsorship effort was a joke that was always destined to fail.

As for the drug taking element. They were desperate for publicity and signed Richard and Sciandri on the basis of their need to get in front of marketing departments.

Whether either of those riders were unclean during their time on the team is moot. But the key thing is that they were engrossed in the ways of the sport at the time. Doesn't make it right and there is an element of us Brits tolerating it or refusing to believe based on their nationality.

I'm not entirely sure why this is of any consequence to anyone. Move on, if anyone in the team wasn't doping at that time then give them some credit for it.

The system failed the riders. End of.

  • Of course, if this turns out someday to be the industry standard integrated handlebar-computer-braking solution then I'll eat my kevlar-reinforced aerodynamic hat.

Surely everyone knows the truth. It was impossible to be successful without doping at that point in time. Period.

Of course. But it was eons ago, and it's 99.999999999999999% certain.

What a waste of time, effort, money and bother.

Clearly there's a lot more meat to that one, bribery, dishonesty, lawsuits, threats...

so how do we know what went on at Linda McCartney Foods without an investigation? Could have been more than doping there too

For sure, but in the grand scheme of things it's irrelevant.

Unless of course Paul McCartney is stopped from making more Frog Chorus type records as a result.

Had UKAD unlimited finance and resources, I don't think even the most pessimistic aficionado would claim that knowing what went on at LMF wouldn't be desirable.
Unfortunately, this isn't the case, so it becomes a question of priorities.
I think most would view a 15 YO cold case to low on the totem pole, compared to more OoC testing, or even the current Sky report.

sure then don´t announce an investigation publicly once you have you have to follow through or people will think cover up, some of the issue is that some of the Staff and riders are still quite prominent in cycling
