The Redhacks are half way to chasing down 123... yet remarkably also half way to losing too.

LOL, I was talking with a mate a couple of days ago, the point was made about Bailey being chosen as a "specialist captain", someone who isn't good enough to get in the team as a bowler or batsman or all rounder. sh*tey is the classic example though, I will not be surprised if soon we see him not bowling, batting at 8 or 9 (where he belongs) but being chosen for Victoria purely for his captaincy.

The PCB has attempted to clarify comments made by Saeed Ajmal about his bowling action by issuing a statement that suggests the spinner's arm is not naturally straight. Ajmal had apparently suggested that he was allowed 23.5 degrees of extension when bowling by the ICC - rather than the limit of 15 - but the Pakistan board said this figure included the angle of Ajmal's elbow joint, which was affected by an accident some years ago.

"The ICC's level of tolerance of 15 degrees relates to the degree of elbow extension that is permitted in the bowling action, ie. the amount by which the arm is straightening," Pakistan team manager Naveed Akram Cheema said. "Previous tests conducted on the action of Saeed Ajmal show that the degree of elbow extension is well within ICC's tolerance levels."

"Saeed Ajmal was referring to the angle of elbow abduction, ie. the angle of the upper arm to the forearm and not the degree of elbow extension. This angle is approximately 23 degrees in Saeed's case."

    Quote

Ajmal said: "Someone is telling me my action is bad because the ICC allowed me as a bowler 23.5 degrees, because my arm is not good. A few years ago I had an accident. Otherwise, no problem, the action was cleared by ICC."

An ICC spokeman denied that was the case. "There is no dispensation for anyone," he said. "It is worth remembering that his first language is not English and this may have been a slip of the tongue."

Bloody Queensland, first the bat slower than Geoff Allott then they invoke the rain gods to suspend play. Almost no chance of an outright victory tomorrow. :(

Chris Tavare was arguably faster than Queensland  in the first innings, and Tavare's slower than a turtle on sleeping pills.

Meanwhile, Lanka are giving India a chance of victory in JAM ODI.

WA choking struggling to chase down a mammoth total, 16 runs remaining 3 wickets in hand and the score is 7/52.

They lose a further couple of wickets before crawling over the edge. 9/68

Credit to him for his support of Basso's mum too.

Craig must be happy with NZ now. sh*tting all over the Zimbots. If the Saffies lose to NZ, are they in the running for number 1 as well?

I do realise that they won't be.

Cheers for the video JSG. Is there a reference to his mum's ailment in the video?

Not really, it is to be expected though, if McCullum does this against South Africa, then I'll be impressed or it will be the typical McCullum of bashing the the minnows but goes MIA when the going gets tough against the big boys. That they are being ruthless even to Zimbabwe is refreshing though as it's been a major problem for New Zealand in the past. I mean there is no way Saqlain Mushtag, Jerome Taylor, Harbhajan Singh should ever get a Test century, certainly not against a team that is meant to be Test standard. I have to say I was fuming when McGrath got his half century back in 2004. Finishing the innings off is an under-rated skill for mine and something that hasn't always been displayed. in the past. Still, it will be 3-0 to South Africa though in the Tests.

In other news, I see Pakistan is playing Afghanistan today in an ODI.

Possibly Harbhajan was okay but Taylor and Saqlain were unimaginable on a different scale.

In more other news (not good for the English), the only in form English six hitter, Jos Buttler has split his webbing. 3-1 defeat in this series, Pakistan have to have one match go tits up in the series. Looks like Fat Sam (there's one in every sport isn't there) and Bell*1.15 Ravi Bopara.

I have to say I'm impressed by some of Sri Lanka's ground fielding in this match. Even India's in T20 and ODI's, just wish they would do that in Tests.

Another Lankan pinger then. Senenayake seems suspect. Why not just get Randiv or even better Herath in the team.

     :)

That lions team looks poor without Buttler. Sad part is Jade Dirtbag got a few wickets. Even headbanded wonder Jack Brooks can bowl at 6 an over in ODI cricket.

I hope they don't include Jimmykins Taylor for the OD team and can't buy a boundary against spin on a ground larger than Hove or Wantage road. Even Bairstow has been a pile of sh!te in the Lions' tour of Bangles and Lanka. Buttler on the other hand, fantastic.

    Yes  :D

India need another 76 to win, from 10 overs.  6 wickets left for the Aussies to get - should be quite a close finish.
