Tahs beating the Rebels 30-21 and failing to win the bonus point. Gerrard's kicking was one of the few bright spots for the Rebels. No, not Steven Gerrard.

Damn Flyers lost two in a row. Still up 3-2 though. Providing Malkin's elbow doesn't influence this game, hoping for a series wrap tonight.

Kudos to Gravel and BYOP for predicting the improvement in the Nats. 8)

What a day yesterday - the perfect game, the damn Yankees slaughter of the Sox after being 9-0 down, and the Nats winning yet another in overtime, and another by a single run. The Nats defense is looking solid so the prediction of a .500+ season could actually happen. And the O's still top too. :D

Guys, is there enough interest for a dedicated MBL topic? It looks to me like there is.

THe Blues really are sh*te, Nonu, Weepu and not much else. One win in 9, poor.

Johnny Wilkinson had a top day for Toulon, 7 pens and a couple of drop goals.

Heineken Cup final on May 19 at Twickenham will be between Leinster (for the third time in four years) and Ulster.  Ulster beat Edinburgh in their semi 22-19, and Leinster beat Clermont 19-15.  Clermont had a try ruled out in the final couple of minutes.

I don't normally agree with much of what he writes, but this is, for me, one of his better articles.  In a nutshell, Cornish Pirates are going to be denied entrance into the rugby Premiership because they don't have a 'suitable' ground, essentially ring-fencing the Premiership, preserving teams like Newcastle who have been circling the drain for years, and removing any incentive for teams in the Championship.

Anyone watch the first round of the US open golf?  Looks brutally difficult - only 6 players in the entire field shot under par for  their first round.   :o
Large number of big names - Donald, McIllroy, Westwood, Mickelson, Bubba etc. - all at 6+ or worse.  Conversely, Tiger looking ominously good ( :( ) but hopefully Justin Rose can maintain a good challenge into the weekend...

Aye, watched most of it, and also regretting the lack of sleep today.

It's one for the media and stats is the course. It's a 7100 yard course and it's defo not a par 70, just been done so to milk every drop of hype around.

McIlroy desperately needs to improve his course management skills, step back and listen to his caddie or look to be alongside Darren Clarke as much as possible. Darren's a massive positive for youngsters as he's always around for help and Rory needs to sit down and learn.

Donald, he was just terrible yesterday. Didn't hit the fairway enough and with his lack of length it's not at all a wonder that he struggled.

The stimpmeter reading was around, if not more than, 13 yesterday, pretty quick that, and the soft iron players had an okay time- Francesco Molinari and Branden Grace to name two.

Westwood's at 3 over, so nowhere near out of the tournament yet.

I think that the players who started at the back nine were defo more fortunate than the ones who started on the front nine, especially for imploding likes like those of McIlroy.

As for Woods, I'm not convinced by his ability to string out four good rounds to win a major yet. He's definitely getting better and he had a monster putt yesterday.

It's a course for a fit and in form Dustin Johnson like player, shame he's not in peak fitness nowadays.

Donald cut, McIlroy cut, Bubba cut, Louis cut

Also gone Jimenez :'( Cink, Dustin Johnson, Immelman, Baddeley, Ogilvy, Quiros, Laird, Glover, Haas, Rock, F'dez Castano. Too many to name really.

What a fantastic round by Colsaerts though, could he win it? He has the talent to, just been a case of cocking up that talent for half a decade before his breakout win.

US open finishes well in the morning. I don't see all of the round myself, just the first 3 hours and last hour or hour and a half.

Anyway, the commentators need to shut their gob about the hardest course ever. I don't need to hear hardest in every second sentence.

    T1   G. McDowell   -1
    T1   J. Furyk      -1
    3   F. Jacobson     +1
    T4   L. Westwood   +2
    T4   E. Els           +2
    T4   B. Adams      +2
    T4   N. Colsaerts   +2
    T8   W. Simpson   +3
    T8   K. Chappell   +3
    T8   J. Senden      +3
    T8   B. Hossler   E   +3
    T8   J. Dufner   E   +3
    T8   J. Peterson   +3
    T14   R. Goosen   +4
    T14   M. Kaymer   +4
    T14   M. Kuchar      +4
    T14   T. Woods      +4

Then a big group on +5.  Looking good for Westwood and McDowell, but the way the course has been playing (or people playing it) it's clearly very easy to drop a large number of shots very quickly.  It will come down to whoever can hold their nerve, and sink their putts.

It seems rather odd to me however, that going into the final round of a major, that there should be only 2 players under par - yes the majors should be difficult but this is the sort of scorecard you normally associate with the Open where you get four rounds of torrential rain and driving wind.  It's like they looked at McIllroy annihilate the field last year and have gone completely the other way - make the course so difficult that the world number 1 (even though he didn't play great) shoots +7 for his first round.  Bit too extreme for me
