    Which one do you prefer?

Original song is Tweedle Dee Tweedle Dum by Middle of the Road  :)

French version by Sheila (Les rois mages)  [Benotti put it in my mind yesterday and I cannot get it out of it  :shh)

Spanish version still by Sheila (Los reyes magos) [n°1 hit in Argentina if I'm not mistaken]

Other Spanish version by Middle of the Road also called Los reyes magos. Apparently Sally Carr did not appreciate Sheila made such a big hit out of her own song.  :D

German version by Christina Werner : Tweedle Dee Tweedle Dum too

Other German version by Claudia Gorden

The Spanish singer Marisol also performed it in her language it's too crap to be brought here.  :D :-x

‘Summertime’ is an extremely popular aria, one of the most covered songs in the history of recorded music. More than 72 thousand various artists performed it over the years; there is around 48 thousand documented covers.
The aria was composed by George Gershwin and most likely inspired by a traditional Ukrainian lullaby.
Most notable Summertime covers belong to Charlie Parker, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Janis Joplin, Paul McCartney and Norah Jones. Naturally, it’s been translated into many languages.

Amazing John Denver cover by Jamie McDell (lovely smile at the end).  :) Take Me Home Country Roads :playlist

I'm still fond of adaptation into foreign languages. So I'll share to you the French adaptation performed by Dick Rivers: "Faire un pont" (but it unfortunately lacks the bridge "I hear her voice ...") but there exist two other French versions of this great tune "J'ai encore ma maison" by Claude François and "Mon pays est ici" performed by Marie Laforêt.

..and the German version by Austrian Jonny Hill

Yeah I saw that there had been a Japanese version as manga soundtrack but that version is lame, too much electronic for me. There's a Russian version for a Russian cartoon as well but it's equally disappointing.

The Finnish version by Tapio Heinonen "Vanha Tie" is the radical opposite, all acoustic, slow tempo, very pleasant to me. Shame that that singer passed away so young, 44 years old, meningitis apparently.  :(

Take Me Home Country Roads is a real great song, one for the ages. I like playing it on my guitar. I've also found a Spanish version and a Dutch version, both of which I like singing.

Eddy Mitchell covers Arthur Alexander "Everyday I have to Cry (Some)" earlier performed by Steve Alaimo, Dusty Springfield, the Bee Gees, Jerry Lee Lewis, etc.

In my opinion, it doesn't get better than this. No English version can match it. He gives a bluesy feel to it. "Tu peux préparer le café noir".

Emma Stevens covers Blackbird by the Beatles ... in the Mi'kmaq/Micmac language !

The Mi'kmaqs are an Amerindian nation whose territory covers present-day Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and the Gaspesian part of Quebec. They were close to the Acadian people. I find it so beautiful.

"Au bonheur des Dames" cover Rusty York/Marty Robbins.

"Sugaree"  *usa becomes "Oh les filles"  *fr . The original version was performed by Rusty York but written by Marty Robbins if I'm not mistaken. An underground French band called "Les Pingouins' had already adapted it into French in 1962 with the same lyrics "Oh les filles" and the version by "Au bonheur des dames" (1974) was supposed to be a parody of that earlier French adaptation but nowadays everybody in France has forgotten about "Les Pingouins" while "Au bonheur des dames" made it a hit that was pretty huge and is still remembered. So much energy into it !
