UCI Downhill WC series
« on: June 27, 2013, 17:30 »
Clutch at straws here. Many think it's crap, I think it's ace.

Aaron Gwin was overwhelming favourite this season what with the world cup domination last year. Minaar's the World Champion and perennial bridesmaid, and Danny Hart's the outsider after injury ruined 2012.
Story of the season so far...

Atherton siblings been crapping on the field though.

Two rounds, Fort William and Val di Sole, Gee and Rachel have done the double.

GB double up with Danny Hart's win after Aaron Gwin crashed out. Fourth straight win for him after the final three world cup rounds.

We watched the women's race on RedBull TV last night ... Awesome event on a stunning course!! So nice to see DH still riding proper courses as opposed to those terrible, manufactured, farm tracks that they use on XC.

Atherton was brilliant - but to me the standout ride was Nicole. She lost so much time this season to injury, but despite that and the obvious impact on her fitness, to come in so close to Atherton on that course was impressive!!

Can't wait to watch the men's race tonight! The first few riders were fair pumping it - and knowing how close the timings were for the top 20 or so, it's going to be gnarly!!

Still winning. Rachel Atherton takes the first round of the world cup at Lourdes.

    Rain took the men's edition.
