Rather amused by it all personally. Still gives the AFL boffins something to discuss to death for a few days. :D

Swannies just about winning the first half of their opening game against the giants

no winning for the swans really, if they win it is a new team and if their lose, good god.

was a bit tight for most of that second quarter but i guess the thing you can rely on with a young team is they will be unreliable. very hard for them to maintain a good level for 4 quarters

Swans running away with it now. completely one way in the 3rd quarter.
Swans looking a good team but tells us nothing playing against a team like this.

Hoping Jetta and Rohan continue to improve

Cheer Cheer the red and the white..

Rubbish game in the end. 2nd Quarter was ok but then fizz went out of it in second half and lost interest. good to hear the song though and a wins a win.

looking at the schedule plenty of afternoon games at SCG this year so will be taking the boy to a few games this season

Colingwood have done well considering the team we had in although our kicking accuracy cost us dearly.

Couple of people were talking up Hawthorn before the start of the season (isn't tuarts a Hawks)

did not see the game so cannot tell if this was crap collingwood or the start of some great stuff form the hawks

Hopefully the tigers losing yesterday is not a bad sign. First match of the season (and in fact first match in the juniors) for the boy tomorrow.

The tigers supporters will already be ripping up their memberships. They are the biggest banwagon supporters in the league!

Good luck to your son. :)

I am posting about the match now before I have to face tuarts but I can keep reminding him about the Preliminary final last year.

What good is winning a preliminary final if you can't finish it off?

Well the baby tigers did what their AFL brothers could not and won today int he under 9's

Terrible game for Gold Coast. am pretty sure at the start of the season they would have looked at this as a game they could win and completely outclassed. Still looks a bit like men v boys, Gold coast seem to really struggle with a lack of body strength.

three great goals in third quarter from adelaide. at least two from over 60 metres

    Onya Buddy!!!

That performance would have knocked a few toothless grins of some faces! :D

Poor Maggies, best midfield in the comp and all they'll have to show for it is a replayed GF win if they're not careful. Buckley could always turn out like Voss too.

Anyway, we couldn't beat 2 teams last year, already beaten one and now onto the next team next week. If we win that too, the Hawks are set in '12...barring numerous injures. :P

2 good games tonight - was willing Hmac to kick that ( :( ) and Freo just got over the line against Geelong.

Firstly, it is 1 game so writing them off like you have in the 3rd sentence is sensationalist. Secondly, our midfield got it into the forward 50 a lot, it was just that we squandered a lot of opportunities. The game was a LOT closer than the actual margin.

Me too, which reminds me promised to take the little man to the game

Swans have been really good with home games this year, last year was lots of 7pm matches which are too late to take the kid and if i cannot take the kid i cannot go. this year lots of 2pm and 5pm starts

I love day time footy, the quality is so much better but unfortunately ratings means lot's more night footy. I have to admit the AFL has more daytime footy than the NRL at least.

I am sort of watching it ,the game is not doing much for me though. Carlton are just doing enough to win and Brisbane are struggling to stay within touching distance. That was a great mark by Betts though. It is going to be tough to beat that leap
