crickets not a real sport anyway .... but even less so in footy season   ;D

I can handle the cricket during the summer but as soon as footy season begins cricket is like my mother in law , gone till next summer (I am joking of course)

Swans beating freemantle fairly easily so far. Completely failed to make it to the game as forgot it was saturday and made other plans (the boy has gone fishing)

great how at the start of the game the experts were claiming Sydney would suffer after having a week off and that would be too freemantle's advantage. by half time they are saying freemantle are tired after having two hard games

and also confused by the guy called Mzungu on Freemantle. thats swahili term for white man (i heard it plenty) just looked him up and apparently he is of Zimbabwean descent.

in the time i have been typing that Freemantle have kicked 3 in a row including one for the stupid interchange foul. Swans still winning by 4 goals

Just switched back to see McGlynn's goal make it 5 goal lead. switching back had nothing to do with Englands ability to take the last wicket in the cricket and making me angry

:)  they should be able to win just for you.

I would send you chocky ... but I need it, so I wont  ;D

But seriously - you need to take it easier.  Overdoing it isnt going to get you to those goals, only going to cause you injuries.

Important thing is Swans have held on. Missed some of the game as had to go out but got the idea that the swans dominated the first half then took their foot off the pedal in the second and when Dockers came at them they struggled to react.

    2 wins in 2 games.

Did not know that about Mzungu - thanks for the story! Looks to be a good kid with a bright future anyway. Sandi dominated yesterday with no Mummy for Sydney but the Swans were too good. Think Freo are still trying to learn "Ross Lyon".

Wow - some pretty one sided games this weekend

Carlton over Collingwood (:daotec ) by 10 goals
Richmond over Melbourne by 10 goals
Fremantle over Brisbane by 5 goals (but seemed like more)
St Kilda over Bulldogs by 10 goals
WEst Coast over GWS by 13 goals
Hawthorn over Adelaide by 10 goals
North Melbourne and Geelong isnt over yet - but its not close (wtf is happening with Geelong?)

Gold Coast and Essendon was actually the closest game of the round

nice win for the tigers. no mention of the Swans. Beating Freemantle and now 3 for 3
North Melbourne next week i think, Goodes for the all time games record if he is not banned. I really do not like the Kangaroos

Fully expected Swans and North to do well this year. Swans are the masters of recycling players. North game was a bit of an upset but they effectively had a two week break and the Cats were coming of a very physical match against the Hawks.

Collingwood not in the 8. ;D

Great win for the swans today. 20 down at half time but out scored the hawks by 10 goals in the second half.

Looking better than I thought they would this year

    hawks very disappointing.

My eagles were pretty lucky in the end, but all in all it was a great win. Seemed like the umps were totally against us all match, and the early injuries didnt help.

Hawthorn are now proving themselves to be the overhyped team of the season so far. Also amusing to see the yearly preseason "Richmond Fever" being knocked down yet again. You've gotta love their resilience and their overhyping of themselves before every season.  ;D

So not much love for the AFL here? I started following the game last summer. Just about to finish my first complete season. A great game.
I like the Swans, the Dockers... and the Western Bulldogs since "leftover" in the CN forum told awesome stories about their bad luck during decades. This team just must be liked. All the best for them in the finals...

a few here watch, but not much chatter.

I am West Aussie so pretty happy with the ladder right now  :D

As for the western bulldogs and being like - it all depends on where you are from and your perception.   :P

The guy (at the other Forum) roots for WB since decades, but lives near or at Fremantle (AFIK)... I guess its a underdog thing.

I like underdogs too, having a cinderella season. So while rooting for Swans & Freo, a WB win wouldnt be bad. Especially since they go against all odds: No team ever reaching the GF if finishing below 4th in the ladder (since the latest finals format was invented).

Oh, and I disklike the Hawks very much. Imagine took me only 1 year to do that. May coz they are too dominant. So every close loss (between their usual blow-outs of opponents) this season was great to watch. Especially liked the last second comeback by ESS in week 2. The game of the year.

But I think Hawks will win again, since they have the double-chance in the finals.

WCE vs Hawks is my GF tipp...
