Another rider with a wink is Chris Juul-Jensen. And I finally got to read the article you tweeted me:
    http://www.stickybottle.com/latest-news/from-the-sugarloaf-to-saxo-sungard-a-grinder-ventures-into-the-big-time/
3 years old, but still interesting.
Chris is a good rider, developing organically. :cool
    Given time, he'll get there.

Of course, if this turns out someday to be the industry standard integrated handlebar-computer-braking solution then I'll eat my kevlar-reinforced aerodynamic hat.

    http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/news/latest-news/oleg-tinkov-puts-pressure-on-bjarne-riis-to-deliver-better-results-162967

Some things are not in the article though, for example that Tinkov demands Riis to be more prominent and in 1st team car instead of De Jongh (so basically taking over the main DS role) and Riis stood up for his riders and staff.

Honestly I think it's Tinkov's own fault, the hype was unbearable "we're gonna win everything" "Contador's rivals are afraid of him" sometimes you win sometimes you lose. Clearly he got himself so hyped up that he lost his sense of reality (if he ever had one of course) Sagan's goals are the classics and Contador's are the GTs. If they don't win any of those then we can talk.

    Kreuz 29th,
    Boaro 123rd,

Horrible crash, but thankfully seems to be relatively OK... Stitches, sore ribs and wrist.

Benna had a problem with his foot and withdrew early from Tirreno. Looks like it didn't hold up yesterday, hope it's nothing too serious for the rest of the spring races.

Honestly Oleg should have done this a long time ago, what is fun about sponsoring a cycling team despite cycling being tiny in the market of your product if you don't make the calls. All hail DS Oleg Tinkov, cycling's Jerry Jones.

Also knowing Bjarne I wonder in what way he managed to win this situation. My guess Saxo, quits Oleg goes bust, and Bjarne buys it back for next to nothing.  :lol

I only found out about this late last night and I was really surprised and disgusted.

An exact copy of those football teams where they become impatient and prematurely fire the manager.

Common denominator? Plaything team run by ignorant rich oligarch. I thought cycling had more dignity than that.

Of course, there was a small chance that Riis would be going down anyway but the morale on the team must be rock bottom after this. It is only March, FFS.

So what's the brewery fool going to do now?  Hire Roberto Amadio and crank up the Dark Side to 11? Come run it himself on the ground with De Jongh?

The silver lining in that would be that he would no longer have so much time for his Twitter BS.

Semantics. It all amounts, does it not, to the same thing. If I was PRing for Tinkoff-Saxo, I would remove the passive voice that betrays fault on the part of Tinkov and then banalise the rest, such that:

Bjarne Riis has separated from Team Tinkoff-Saxo due to irreconcilable musical differences. We will release a full statement shortly after meeting to discuss various interpretations of the truth.

so strange the riders seem to have no info. or maybe they just don't want to talk about it. PS Nikolay Trusov who follows me on twitter favorited a tweet I retweeted. Then unfavorited it because it does not show a fave. But I still have the notification. Perhaps he figured it wasn't very smart to favorite a tweet saying Tinkov has gone mad.
