  • Despite the self-serving data benders and associated propaganda to the contrary, I am led to believe that there are pockets of organised, highly sophisticated dopers, even within 'new age' cycling teams. Personally, I don't accept that the 'dark era' has ended, it has just morphed into a new guise.

Not allowed to bet :P but if I were I'd place 20€ on Alberto for TDF, probably would lose 20 euros but might win 180. 9.00.

Also 10€ on Stybar for PR and Flanders, 7.00 and 13.50. 5€ on Boonen for PR and Flanders 3.75 and 5.00

Tut tut. Gambling's a slippery slope Flo.  :P

MSR supposedly changes back to the old course - kinda ruins my 3 earlier outsider picks who'd have liked the extra climbing, but gives us a chance, if we're quick, to pick up some nice prices now.

    Phinney 101ew with PP

MSR along with PR is one of his big early season targets. Got over that hill in Dubai with seemingly no trouble at all despite the fast pace, and we saw his sprinting in some of the finishes.

    Post Merge: February 15, 2014, 12:06
...and I'll add some fast men too.

    Demare 201ew
    Modolo 251ew

    Both with PP

    Post Merge: February 15, 2014, 13:15
..and one final pick - Ciolek 151ew with PP

Was it a fluke last year? Weather played a part, but there can't be too many races where the winner from the previous year is at such massive odds.

    Degand v Gerdemann 2.2 with Bet365

Never been impressed with Gerdemann really and he was nowhere in the mountain stage in Mallorca. Degand just off the back of an excellent Tour Méditerranéen and a 7th place on Mont Faron.

    Not much else about unfortunately.

    Swift 126ew with Bet365

More of an interest bet than anything, but who knows. Guys like Soupe and Trentin were only 34 secs down last year, and with no Contador this year to light the blue touch paper, and according to Lotto a headwind on the final ascent, maybe a reduced group sprint could be on the cards.

Six points available today, sixteen tomorrow. Ten point lead currently. I guess we'll know soon enough when the break forms, but you could be right (and they could ofc even have Vanbilsen as their sprinter, instead of TVA).

Any reason Leukemans would be at 1001 for Saturday? All I can find is that he wasn't out on a recon with Wanty today, but Van Der Schueren says he's ready.

    Probably just a mis-price.

there was an interview with him in Het Nieuwsblad today, he said doing a 3 hour drive (2*1 1/2 hours) to recon a race he knows anyway doesn't make any sense, therefor he prefered to train at home. He said he isn't 100% yet - but I don't really think anyone is, should be in the mix, as usual, unlikely to win, but who knows.

I can't copy that article at the moment, but this one from today's Gazet van Antwerpen is even longer:

    Quote

    Rightio thanks for that info.

Got a few pence on him at that price, but it must have been a typo - the highest anyone else is 301. Must have put an extra 0 into 101 or something, down to 51 now. I can't see it standing, but we live in hope.

Got an eye on a couple of others, but will wait and see what PP have.

You not have any thoughts (now that the Olympics are over  :P)?
