Radioshack using Nike Fuel Band
« on: March 06, 2012, 15:49 »
Whilst watching Daniele Bennati riding Strade Bianchi on Saturday I am sure I saw a Nike+ Fuel Band on his wrist.

Being a techno nerd, I can't wait for them to come out in the UK and I am wondering if they will be useful to cyclists.

The spec seems more geared up for runners, but I like the concept.

Anyone else thinking of getting one?

Ha ha, it seems there is no cycling functionality so it cant have been one I saw Bennati wearing.

Yep - everything points to it being a pedometer in pretty colours and funky plastics.  All it does it turn motion into a calorie figure.  Whoopee!

Mind you, do you recall 2 years ago when a heap of riders (and athletes in most sports actually) started wearing the Power Balance bands?  what a croc of ____!!

Turns out they were getting paid to wear them - so no reason that a cyclist wouldn't be getting paid to wear a pointless pedometer.

    According to Mario Balotelli.

    Quote
London, Mar 13 : Mario Balotelli has said that when it comes to style, Italians are on "another level".
The Italian striker made the revelations in a rare interview for BBC1 with former Oasis guitarist and Man City fan Noel Gallagher.
The Manchester City star, who was recently named the second best-dressed man in Britain by GQ magazine, said that he dresses better than other British footballers.
"I don't wanna offend nobody but an English person cannot speak about style with an Italian person," the Mirror quoted him as saying.
"I didn't say English people wear bad clothes, I said Italian people are on another level," he added
