I can't say that I've ever heard of the guy, and it may well be that he would never have forced himself into the attention of anyone other than those who scour the peloton placings in minor results, but at the age of 23 Lewis Rigaux should still able to dream of what might lie ahead rather than having had to retire through health problems.

    One of the not-straightforward careers.
Started at Mapei, then went to ONCE/Liberty Seguros/Astana MkI. After 2006, he was a bit of a journeyman, never staying at the same team for more than two seasons.
I don't know the exact reasons for that (official or unofficial), but it gives a picture of someone who (for whatever reasons) didn't fit in anywhere.

Sad to read that but already it's obvious that your blog post has the right attitude.  :cool

Here at VR we have seen you evolve into a cycling writer, as JSG says, and retirement from racing was always going to happen someday, so this is it. You just get a bit of a headstart on your peers!  :)

Good luck, Jono, and be sure not to overcool that Delirium Tremens. It should be 7-9 degrees celsius when you drink it.  :cool

Once I sort out something full-time, you'll probably see less of me I reckon.

But I'll always be lurking. When it comes to obscure race results, this is the hub.

I'd offer the same advice for the Young's Double Chocolate Stout - if it's too cold, you can't taste the chocolate.  :cool

And I'd echo others' sentiments - you've clearly got a talent for cycling writing. Just don't forget us little guys when you make it to the big leagues  ;)

    Maybe I will.

No arguments from me. Although I am a bit unconventional. I like to start em rather cold, straight out of the fridge, but let them warm slowly and you drink them. Fascinating to see just how much the flavours change. MM beer.
