A song about mother nature ( I believe e think)

Quote
Her love rains down on me easy as the breeze
I listen to her breathing it sounds like the waves on the sea
I was thinking all about her, burning with rage and desire
We were spinning into darkness; the earth was on fire

She could take it back, she might take it back someday

So I spy on her, I lie to her, I make promises I cannot keep
Then I hear her laughter rising, rising from the deep
And I make her prove her love for me, I take all that I can take
And I push her to the limit to see if she will break

She might take it back, she could take it back some day

Now I have seen the warnings, screaming from all sides
It's easy to ignore them and G-d knows I've tried
All this temptation, it turned my faith to lies
Until I couldn't see the danger or hear the rising tide

She can take it back, she will take it back some day
She can take it back, she will take it back some day
She can take it back, she will take it back some day

A bit of kora. Couln't find the video of Kita kaira, so here's kaira by the same two artistes.

Count me as another Toumani fan, Ram! I have everything he's recorded and I've seen him in concert three times: one with Symmetric Orchestra, one solo and one with an Afro-Cuban combo. Love the guy.

For those who don't know, what makes Toumani Diabaté special is that he can play both the treble and the bass accompaniment on the kora, a 21-stringed instrument something like a cross between a laoud and an upright bass.

I recently had a period of being quite deep into West African music from which I've since re-emerged enthused and refreshed and ready to look at other stuff.  :D

Quentin Tarantino makes some good music selections. I enjoy his movies too. Misirlou (I deathstare B.E.P fans) is awesome, and is from Pulp Fiction, D.I.M is from Deathproof, which I rather enjoyed. :D

EDIT: Rofl, just seen you did post Misirlou. Purely coincidental you posted 2 popular songs from QT movies? :D

    Oh yeah trucking music

Well, I pulled out of Pittsburgh,
    Rollin' down the Eastern Seaboard.
I've got my diesel wound up,
And she's running like never before.
There's a speed zone ahead, all right,
    I don't see a cop in sight.
Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight.

    I got ten forward gears,
    And a Georgia overdrive.
    I'm taking little white pills,
And my eyes are open wide.
I just passed a 'Jimmy' and a 'White':
I've been passin' everything in sight.
Six days on the road and I'm gonna make it home tonight.
