Fantastic victory, fantastic character to protect Angela in goal like that, and what about Gary 'Goal machine' O'Neil? :P Though I don't think we've ever had three consecutive games with red cards.

Would have taken 7 points from 9 with eleven on the pitch, but 7 from 9 with 10 men, thats why we love West Ham.

    Another Red Card!!!

jesus you will be playing U19 players soon at this rate. Fantastic win with a midfielder in goal though. Away to 7th place in table as well. Showing they really are too classy for championship.

I am more nervous about the rapidly approaching bunch behind. Birmingham and Middlesbrough both got wins last night and with games in hand could end up with Birmingham, Reading, Middlesbrough and Hull all within 3 points of saints with a long way to go still.

    very very nervous

Thanks for the clip, Archie. Here's a short write up from someone who attended.

    (Surprised that Villas-Boas hasn't gone yet.) ;D

    Quote
Fantastic performance. We were on it from the off. Winning most second
balls, players supporting each other, options with Maynards movement
and support from Vaz Te and Faubert bombing down the line. Vaz Te
looked a bit of a luxury at times not tracking back enough, a bit like
having Piq there on the left but with more pace and more direct
cutting in, proved his worth in the end. He's not a real team player
    but at least kept going.
Made Blackpool looked 2nd best and were cruising at 2 nil, the only
one real chance and soft goal on 45,  I really felt would prove
    costly.
Sure Blackpool went for it but they should have been more
patient ,especially when Green went, when I think we all felt it will
be a miracle to avoid defeat, a draw would been a huge bonus feeling
like a win but to do it in such style was awesome. Went close before
the 3rd and 4th a couple of times, Faubert denied a tap in and another
intervening defender stopping Vaz Te at the far after great work on
    the break by Maynard.
Maynard was superb challenging for every ball and taking a few knocks
despite not being the tallest/beefiest. Always looking to knock past
and run on using his pace.  Nobes and Collison ran themselves into the
ground, always finding time and space, Jacks best display for some
long time. JT did a superb holding job and moved to centre back later
with much ease. Faye and Reid solid, McCartney dependable and some,
O’Brien never say die.  Faubert up and down the line keenly.  Lansbury
barely troubled, kicking excellent just one that went straight off. We
looked a class above Holloways men and pleasingly played the better
football for most of the game.
Some top singing; ‘We’ve only got (need) 10 men’, ‘England’s No1’,
‘One Nicky Maynard’ (when he went off) and best of all Blackpool
played on with Vaz Te down, eventually the ball goes out, Vaz Te still
down and ‘9 men , we only need 9 men ‘ went up. All through the game
we were singing, 'We're gonna score in a minute', because it really
felt that way. Of course 'We are top of the league'.
Had some good banter with the stewards near the end too, quite a few
apparently PNE fans so were loving it almost as much as us.

Cheers Amster, "Englands No 1" was aimed at Lansbury, very good. Didnt know he played in goal at England vGermany under21 game. We should sign him.
Last two days nothing but Arse & Chelsea mugs moaning on the radio about their downturn in fortune, truly pewk worthy..

Be crazy to get rid AVB. Keep doing the merry go round of managers wont provide consistency.

Needs to get rid of Mourinho's gang, JT, Lamps etc...

Talk of Benitez finishing the season as Chelski temp manager. That would be fun. ;D

Can you remember the last time a straight red got overturned? I can't. What a result. 8)

My local team, Ajax, played at OT last night. Ajax 1.5 beat ManU 2 by 2-1, so ManU just squeak through to the next round. It was a poor game in terms of quality, but the story of the night was the performance of the 4k Ajax fans, who totally drowned out the other 63k in the Theater of Prawn Sarnies and literally owned the stadium for the evening. They were truly awesome for the whole 90 minutes, even louder than our Hammers. Embarrassing for the ManU 'fans'. Very. ;D

For the particular attention of all who love, and can appreciate, the occasional stunning beauty in this game. Let the clip load, then ff to around 2:55 and let your jaw drop as you witness one of the sweetest strikes of a ball that you will ever see in your life. Note that from the location of the free kick, this is a ball for a right-footed player.

I thought my last post needed to be separate. ;)

I've had the most stunning day of football! In fact, the only single result that spoiled my weekend was the Hammer's 0-0 on Saturday. Shame I don't gamble, I could have cleaned up.

Ajax kicked off at 12:30, so after their 4-1 win away, I switched straight over to Arsenal-Spurs (while keeping an eye on K-B-K) and saw the Gooners come from 0-2 down to beat their (and our) big enemy 5-2. Then over to AZ-Heerenveen, where the best result for Ajax was a draw - finished 3-3 (and saw the last kms of K-B-K)! That was 18 goals in three games. :D Saw the first half of Napoli-Inter while waiting for Barca to start - Inter lost, I hate Inter! :P

To top this off, Barca won a difficult away game, one they simply had to win, with the goal in my previous post, scored by a player who has given me more pleasure than any other in the half century that I have been watching the beautiful game.

'Hog heaven' doesn't even come close to the day I had today. 8)
