FROM GTF:Update #8: Who needs Boonen?

As the classics season got under way it was probably expected that the 16 teams without Tom Boonen would struggle this week... but try telling that to Londonpat. Ian Stannard, Sep Vanmarcke, Taylor Phinney and Sebastian Langeveld's exploits in Belgium along with Ruben Fernandez and Sam Bennett's in Spain all contributed to a good score, but Londonpat must be equally grateful for the 5 points gained by Esteban Chaves and Heiner Parra in Malaysia and France respectively as he just edges out Mellow Velo for the weekly honours.

And whilst one Boonen-less team was flying, another was crashing. A 12th place from Heinrich Haussler in Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne gave wizard_of_oz his only points of the week, so for the second time this year our leader is also the weeks lowest scorer.

We have joint high movers this week with ingsve and King Of The Worlds both moving up 43 places, and the two are virtually inseparable in the overall table as well - 60th and 61st place respectively - with just 5 points between them.

This Week's Top Scorers

1. Londonpat  420
2. Mellow Velo  419
3. ingsve  395
4. King Of The Worlds  392
5. olafjt  374

This Week's High Movers

1. King Of The Worlds  (+43)
1. ingsve  (+43)
3. Mellow Velo  (+38)
4. Eyeballs Out  (+30)
5. trotters aotearoa  (+27)

The best scoring team of the month goes to *Falze*, and Mellow Velo claims top spot in the high movers chart to complete a great update for himself.

This Month's Top Scorers

1. *Falze*  1422
2. rywann  1377
3. Pentacycle  1325
4. shalgo  1286
5. Mellow Velo  1282

This Month's High Movers

1. Mellow Velo  (+78)
2. Leadbelly  (+75)
3. search  (+71)
4. shalgo  (+70)
5. cj2002  (+64)
5. ingsve  (+64)

A no-show by the Aussies this week, coupled with a good scores from just some guy, lenissart & Ruvu75 means the overall ranking is looking a bit closer than it was last week. How much longer can the wizard hang on?

Top 10 Overall[/u]

1. (-) wizard_of_oz   2342
2. (-) Geraint Too Fast   2149
3. (-) just some guy   2036
4. (+2) lenissart   1992
5. (+2) Ruvu75   1902
6. (-2) mutschi   1864
7. (+3) ItalianGigolo   1842
8. (-3) riaroadtrip   1836
9. (+2) knallertjeblaf   1804
10. (+6) Kazistuta   1773

scap paper maths and may have missed a GTF rider

if Chaves and Steven hold on to their CG spots in Langkowi I should be 69 points above GTF before SB starts.

Not sure if I have been passed or not  :shh

also another 146 points caught up on OZ

I expected something this week apart Langkawi (Guardini, Chaves) but my italians - Battaglin and Moser more than others - didn't delivered any point as Nizzolo is still recovering from a brocken collarbone... Don't think I'll continue in top50. For next week I've got a fairly weak team for PN, so I'm hoping for a good TA and probably a good GC from Di Grégorio at Taiwan.

     72nd Paris - Nice

    BOASSON HAGEN Edvald
    GOSS Matthew
    KEUKELEIRE Jens
    BOONEN Tom
    SCHLECK Andy
    FEILLU Romain

    Tour de Taiwan

    DI GRéGORIO Rémy

    Grand Tour d'Algérie

Will COBO and Torku go to any of this races? Dunno. No startlist at PCS.

    Tirreno-Adriatico

BRAJKOVIč Janez (Giro leader status operation starts here :P)
    KESSIAKOFF Fredrik
    MOSER Moreno
    NUYENS Nick
    VAN DEN BROECK Jurgen
    URAN Rigoberto
    KENNAUGH Peter
    CONTADOR Alberto
    BATTAGLIN Enrico

    Dwars door Drenthe

Update #9: Josedin takes the honours as wizard_of_oz hangs on for another week

Josedin took advantage of Omega Pharma Quick-Step's early season dominance and the points bonanza that is Tour de Langkawi to claim a comfortable weekly victory. Guillaume van Keirsbulck was the teams highest scorer, closely followed by Esteban Chaves, Michal Kwiatkowsi, Theo Bos, and Andrea Guardini in that order.

There is a tie for 2nd place between two very different teams. Nicosix's collected points from 9 different races - Tour de Langkawi, GP Camaiore, Le Samyn, Strade Bianche, Roma Maxima, Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen, Paris-Nice, GP Ville de Lillers, and because CQ Ranking has included points from today's (Monday) races in this update, Tour de Taiwan. While 90% of Ruudz0r's points came from just Langkawi (Kudus, Chaves, Kruijswijk & Zilioli), with Cunego contributing the remaining 10% at Strade Bianche.

The 4th & 5th best teams of the week - Eric8_A and Grimm - are the two highest movers.

    This Week's Top Scorers
    1. Josedin  412
    2. Ruudz0r  358
    2. Nicosix  358
    4. Eric8_A  352
    5. Grimm  331

    This Week's High Movers
    1. Eric8_A  (+37)
    2. Grimm  (+34)
    3. Zuremelk  (+28)
    3. Cyivel  (+28)
    5. bicing  (+27)

It couldn't be much closer at the top of the overall ranking, but wizard_of_oz is still hanging on up there. We'll see if he can make it 10 out of 10 next week when search takes over the updates.

    Top 10 Overall
    1. (-) wizard_of_oz   2402
    2. (-) Geraint Too Fast   2399
    3. (+1) lenissart   2253
    4. (-1) just some guy   2242
    5. (+2) ItalianGigolo   2154
    6. (+3) knallertjeblaf   2128
    7. (-2) Ruvu75   2106
    8. (-) riaroadtrip   2079
    9. (+1) Kazistuta   1999
    10. (+11) Ruudz0r   1940

    Spreadsheet at Dropbox

Shame, Geraint couldn't take the lead in time for his last update. But safe to say that the Wizard has woven his lack piece of magic. I think he is all out of tricks.
