Update #15: Skibby gets out of the bush

The cobbled classics have been left behind and the Ardennes classics are upon us and it's time for a new group of riders to shine. Does that mean that it's time for a new group of teams to dominate the CQ Rankings Manager Game as well?

If this week's update is to tell us anything, it's that we can't tell at all yet!

At the top of This Week's Top Scorers list, we find Skibby the bush kangaroo, who earns 648 points, mainly from Gilbert, Matthews and Vanendert. That's only 5 points more than second placed Reno who has the same three riders and only needed one more finisher in Amstel Gold Race to tie Skibby for first place.
Our leader, Pentacycle, finds a way into the top 5 as well, mainly because of points from Gilbert and Vanendert.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    1. Skibby the bush kangaroo - 648
    2. Reno - 643
    3. DJ Sprtsch - 627
    4. HelgeBlendet - 589
    5. Pentacycle - 560

This Week's High Jumpers list is dominated by some of the same names we found on This Week's Top Scorers list. Moving up 39 places, HelgeBlendet edges out Skibby the bush kangaroo, who jumps 37 places, for first place, while DJ Sprtsch has to settle for third, jumping 35 places. In fourth place we find a former winner. ingsve moves up 34 places, but there's still some work to do if he wants to become the first two time winner, as he's still only in 87th place overall.

    This Week's High Jumpers

    1. HelgeBlendet +39
    2. Skibby the bush kangaroo +37
    3. DJ Sprtsch + 35
    4. ingsve +34
    5. ----AG---- +31
    5. Panda Claws +31

In the overall top 10, Pentacycle still leads the pack as he extends his lead over freshman by 77 points and now has a 264 points advantage. Martin jumps into third place, while EvansIsTheBest loses a little ground, dropping two places down to 6th. That's nothing, however, compared to Oliveira who collapses completely this week, scoring only 40 points and in the proces drops from 8th to 15th.

The only new team in the top 10 this week is Grimm who jumps from 13th to 7th, but beware, because just outside the top 10, three teams are pushing hard. Reno jumps from 40th to 11th, lenissart from 17th to 12th and knallertjeblaf from 31st to 13th.

    Top 10

    1. (-) Pentacycle - 5213
    2. (-) freshman - 4949
    3. (+3) Martin - 4857
    4. (-1) rywann - 4744
    5. (-) Geraint Too Fast - 4617
    6. (-2) EvansIsTheBest - 4607
    7. (+6) Grimm - 4554
    8. (+2) Ruvu75 - 4502
    9. (-2) SteelyDan - 4446
    10. (-1) MCardinalR - 4431

Kwiatkowski into profit, though his Ardennes campaign hasn't quite lived up to my hopes. 5th, 3rd and 3rd doesn't look too bad, but you really need a first to get those big points.

Still, he's got Romandie (though he says he's winding down now) this week and then presumably the Dauphine, Polish Nats, TdF and TdP (which he's said he wants to ride) with who knows what after that - Quebec, Montreal and the Worlds?

1800+ would be a good score.

You are getting greedy Leadbelly.. us paupers are stuck wondering if Betancur will actually choose to start a race in the near future  :(

In other news, all those with Gerrans (me excluded) should be pretty satisfied. :fp

Update #16: (not) just some guy on the move!

The Ardennes are over. Finally some might say, as it was quite a boring edition this year. Boring was the impact it had on the game this week not, though.

His name might be "just some guy", but beware because he might not be just some guy this game, as he's this week's top scorer, assembling a wooping 888 points mainly thanks to Evans and Gerrans but with some help from Aru, Bennett and Duarte among others as well.
knallertjeblaf continues his Ardennes run, ranking fourth this week. Another team to watch out for is last year's second place finisher, Geraint Too Fast, who top 3's this week.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    1. just some guy - 888
    2. Jakob747 - 781
    3. Geraint Too Fast - 770
    4. knallertjeblaf - 763
    5. MADRAZO - 759

Two teams are to be found in both weekly lists, MADRAZO and Jakob747, but it's jeroenk who takes the honor of being this week's high jumper, as he moves up 36 places to 33rd place overall. None of the high jumpers this week are among our leaders with MADRAZO placed highest in 25th place.

    This Week's High Jumpers

    1. jeroenk +36
    2. MADRAZO +35
    3. Jakob747 +31
    4. archieboy +28
    5. 18-Valve. (pithy) +25

In the top 10, Pentacycle defends his first place but loses almost 200 points to freshman who's closing in on the prestigous placing. Geraint Too Fast has really turned on his engine as he enters top 3 while just some guy takes a big jump from 20th to 8th. knallertjeblaf continues his rise, this week jumping 6 places into 7th. Out of the top 10 goes EvansIsTheBest and last year's winner, SteelyDan.

    Top 10

    1. (-) Pentacycle - 5651
    2. (-) freshman - 5583
    3. (+2) Geraint Too Fast - 5387
    4. (-) rywann - 5348
    5. (-2) Martin - 5260
    6. (+2) Ruvu75 - 5163
    7. (+6) knallertjeblaf - 5063
    8. (+12) just some guy - 5048
    9. (-2) Grimm - 4996
    10. (+1) Reno - 4962

Some unexpected points yesterday from Wellens. Could have been a few more, but Belgium must have been doing so badly recently they got reclassified as a tier two nation (in CQ terms anyway).
