Update #17: We've got a new sheriff in town!

Better late than never they say, right? Well, I was quite busy this week and completely forgot about the update, so here it is - a few days late.

Armchair cyclist is this week's top scorer with a lot of points from the Tour of Turkey thanks to Taaramäe and Yates. The Hitch and mc_mountain share second place, while Lightbing and bicing rounds of the top 5.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    1. Armchair cyclist - 679
    2. The Hitch - 596
    2. mc_mountain - 596
    4. LightBing - 576
    5. bicing - 568

Lightbing and bicing are also both to be found on this week's high jumpers list, moving up 26 and 21 places, but it's Manafana who takes the honor this week, just edging out Lightbing. Yours truly and tomazo round off the top 5.

    This Week's High Jumpers

    1. Manafana (+27)
    2. LightBing (+26)
    3. bicing (+21)
    4. Hugo Koblet (+19)
    4. tomazo (+19)

And now to this new sheriff stuff. freshman overtakes Pentacycle for the prestigious leader spot, as he leads by 63 points. EvansIsTheBest makes his way back into the top 10 while Ferminal takes a big jump from 18th to 10th, while just some guy and Reno makes way.

    Top 10

    1. (+1) freshman - 5885
    2. (-1) Pentacycle - 5822
    3. (-) Geraint Too Fast - 5584
    4. (-) rywann - 5527
    5. (+2) knallertjeblaf - 5468
    6. (-1) Martin - 5420
    7. (+4) EvansIsTheBest - 5373
    7. (-1) Ruvu75 - 5373
    9. (-) Grimm - 5238
    10. (+8) Ferminal - 5147

And let's take a look at the monthly figues. April was a month of many points. If you have any doubts, just ask our leader freshman, who's the top scorer this month, earning an enormous 2613 points. knallertjeblaf, rywann and Grimm are also among the top 5 earnes this month and they are all to be found in the overall top 10. The only one from this month's top scorers list who's not among the 10 best teams overall is will10 who's currently in 26th place.

    This Month's Top scorers

    1. freshman - 2613
    2. knallertjeblaf - 2542
    3. rywann - 2371
    4. will10 - 2318
    5. Grimm - 2300

will10 is, however, making his way towards the top, as he's also among the top 5 jumpers in April, moving up from 79th to 26th place. Handbrake has released the handbrake, moving up 60 spots, but he still has a long way to go, currently sitting in 56th place.

    This Month's High Jumpers

    1. Handbrake (+60)
    2. Crevaison (+56)
    3. will10 (+53)
    4. HelgeBlendet (+51)
    5. WonderLance (+48)

Update #18: Rare Picks Come Good

(insgve was due to do the next few updates but seems he hasnt seen my reminders)

None of the top 5 scoring riders this week where selected more than 6 times, and of the top 20 only Swift (23 picks, 43 points) and Di Gregorio (23 picks, 30 points) were in double figures for times picked.  Demare defends all but 25 of his points from 4 Days of Dunkirk scoring 245, and with his better showing in the Spring this year looks set for a profitable year for Nicosix and Somar13.  These two teams head the weekly scores, Somar13 with 42 points from unique choice Bole, not enough to compete with Nicosix's haul from several riders   Evansisthebest matches two young riders Herklotz (66 points, unique) and Senchal (73 points, 3 picks) and a few others for 3rd.  The two teams with Kittel make up 4th and 5th on the weekly scoring.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    1. Nicosix 349
    2. Somar13 303
    3. EvansIsTheBest 216
    4. coinneach 201
    5. bicing 196

4 of the same names appear in the jumpers list, with martinaagard, one of only 6 teams with Michael Valgren Anderson who scored 115 points from his fine showing in 4 Days of Dunkirk, amking up the top 5.

    This Week's High Jumpers

    1. Nicosix (+22)
    2. bicing (+15)
    3. coinneach (+13)
    3. Somar13 (+13)
    5. martinaagard (+12)

Evansisthebest's absence from the high jumpers list is understandable considering his proximity to the top of the table, he does move up 2 spots into 5th though with lenissart jumping 3 places to take over from Ferminal in 10th place.

    Top 10 Overall

    1. (-)    freshman 5993
    2. (-)    Pentacycle 5912
    3. (-)    Geraint Too Fast 5692
    4. (-)    rywann 5616
    5. (+2) EvansIsTheBest 5589
    6. (-1) knallertjeblaf 5534
    7. (-1) Martin 5474
    8. (-1) Ruvu75 5436
    9. (-) Grimm 5313
    10. (+3) lenissart 5210

Well I'm glad I wasn't the only one who had a quiet week.

California's looking a bit better though and hopefully Capt. Uranium will be able to hold onto his good GC position in Italy to give some big points in two and a half weeks time.

Uran also needs to get some stage points too, will be difficult to replicate his stage win last year, but some 2nds and 3rds and I reckon he probably has a shot at the uphill TT.

    From Ingsve

    Quote
    Update #19: Wiggins pays off

First of all I want to point out that the updates during my weeks in charge here might be a bit unreliable in time. When I agreed to help out with the updates back in November it was impossible to know how other things might interfere with the updates. Last week I was away on business until friday which is why mc_mountain steppen in to do the update. This week I have had some problem with the spreadsheet since I don't have Office and Libreoffice for some reason doesn't like the spreadsheet when you try to do the updates.

As for this weeks results it seems that Wiggins and the Tour of California results are the main factor for changes.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    1. Hilltopfinisher 685
    2. Armchair cyclist 665
    3. GP Blanco 661
    4. Bellsax 649
    5. Manafana 631

    This Week's High Jumpers

    1. Armchair Cyclist (+30)
    1. GP Blanco (+30)
    3. hilltopfinisher (+25)
    3. Bellsax (+25)
    5. Jakob747 (+23)

Both the top scorers and top movers are mostly the same teams and the common denominator is Bradley Wiggins who is starting to pay off a little for those who still believed in the guy. Rohan Dennis is also among the top scorers of the week and a combo a Wiggins and Dennis was good this week and some even added Evans or Craddock to the mix.

    Top 10 Overall

    1,   (-)   freshman   6255
    2,   (-)   Pentacycle   6180
    3,   (+3)   knallertjeblaf   5822
    4,   (-)   rywann   5801
    5,   (-2)   Geraint Too Fast   5777
    6,   (+2)   Ruvu75   5694
    7,   (-2)   EvansIsTheBest   5687
    8,   (+3)   Ferminal   5668
    9,   (-2)   Martin   5655
    10,   (-)   lenissart   5649

In the top 10 knallertjeblaf moves up to the top 3 by being one of only two teams in the top 10 to have Evans. Ferminal is the other and having Evans along with Dennis moves the team into the top 10 this week.

Update #20: Giro dominating the week

We're in the middle of the Giro with just a few smaller side events so it's natural that the Giro is the main predictor of points this week. Uran is looking better and better for people who have him and he of course influenced this weeks scores. Outside the Giro Maciej Paterskis win in Norway gives good fortune to karlboss, Leadbelly and Oliveira who are the one ones to pick him. Marc de Maar, Grega Bole and Ramon Sinkeldam are high scoring unique picks for the week.

    This Week's Top Scorers

    2.   Leadbelly   (+20)
    3.   Ludwigzgz   (+18)
    4.   asdfgh101   (+17)
    5.   Fus87 (+16)

Getting in the top scorers this week comes off of the combination of Uran, Paterski and Battaglin. Well done. A longer list would have also found yours truly on 16th place and 9th top mover. A decent week in a bad year for me.

    Top 10 Overall
    1,   (-)   freshman   6488
    2,   (-)   Pentacycle   6325
    3,   (+1)   rywann   6144
    4,   (+1)   Geraint Too Fast   5988
    5,   (-2)   knallertjeblaf   5978
    5,   (+5)   lenissart   5978
    7,   (-1)   Ruvu75   5912
    8,   (-)   Ferminal   5882
    9,   (+3)   Cykeltyven   5879
    10,   (+1)   just some guy   5850

In the top 10 the big mover is lenissart who gains 5 places with a week led by Battaglin with Fabio Aru helping out a bit which might be a sign of things to come when the Giro is summarized next week. Another mover is Cykeltyven who enters the top 10 while EvansIsTheBest drops 6 places to fall out of the top 10.
