Of course, if this turns out someday to be the industry standard integrated handlebar-computer-braking solution then I'll eat my kevlar-reinforced aerodynamic hat.

Bona's #europcar deal will probably be a stagiaire ride from August, and possibly a contract from 2015.
Good for him, after all #mtn can't take them all - there is too much talent in Africa for just one team.
And Bernaudeau is clever, taking in African riders. He can only win by that. Now, if he could find a spot for Dan Craven as well ...

Haig has a lot of potential but who would he go with? OGE have probably got enough youngsters for now and should look at getting someone a little more established. I know JV likes to have a few Australians on his squad so Garmin can't be ruled out...

    from the article

"Outside of people contacting me, I'd always say the top three teams that I'd like to go to are probably Sky, BMC, Omega Pharma-Quick Step and maybe Orica-GreenEdge in there as well. I'd probably put my first pick as Sky, having Richie [Porte] and Nathan [Earle] there would be great. Nathan and I are really great friends and I'd love to go and race with him some more."

But not sure greenedge have space especially if the expected buy of a GT rider takes place for 2015

That's what I was thinking re: OGE. OPQS is interesting, maybe they think he could make a classics contender with his MTB background? Sky doesn't surprise at all now you mention it, he'd know Earle and Porte fairly well I'd imagine.

More (but not much more) on Garate. My best guess is that he got a better offer at another team then it didn't happen and he was left high and dry.

    Nino Schurter- Onroad, Offroad

    Quote
What’s the reason behind this switch? Nino Schurter tells us that, ”To do the Tour de Suisse once in my life has always been my dream.
My heart is in mountain biking and will remain there. But if I ever wanted to ride a big stage race on the road, the 2014 season offers the perfect slot for it. To defend my World Championship title is still going to be my main goal for 2014 and furthermore I will 100% concentrate on mountain biking to hopefully add a missing Olympic medal to my collection. I believe that on my way there, I can gain a lot of knowledge and experience from racing on the road with ORICA-GreenEDGE this year."

I thought it was a Scott PR thing. And if it is, I find that rather distasteful to be honest. At least Stybar continues to dip into CX while on the same team. Schurter isn't even on OGRE.

Well I am at a slight loss why Alonso would want him, his primary worth seems to be as a David Beckham media figure imo and there are probably better riders available for his worth. Of course he still is a class rider but he will be a year older by that time and he most likely will be pooling his focus to the 2016 Olympics in Rio and will surely have to spend some time on the track in the buildup (though admittedly mostly in 2016) as there is no chance GB will allow him to go straight into the team just like that and will have to do specified track buildup, taking his focus away from the road. But this year will be make or break for Wiggins surely to see if he still has that 'old spark'.

I think he will have to ride some track to qualify for the Olympics, but he will still be able to do road as Kennaugh and Thomas did.

Sky is the only team who will allow him a split programme and pay him a decent salary.
