Corima Aero+ 590EUR second hand here in Belgium.

    French brand, Astana's wheel supplier.

Nice and glidey, so says the public.

The seller was from Wallonie - no pavé down there. ;) Anyway, just feeding you some ideas.

I heard Corima wheels were really good but you almost never see them. They were all the rage in the pro peloton back in the 90s and now only a few teams run them.

Aside from that though, I reckon you can get a decent set of Cosmics or Fulcrums for your budget. Looks to be a buyer's market.

there is a whole heap of wheels available for between 800 and 1000, the going rate it seems on ebay, done deal etc. I was emailed a set of new Kuiper wheels, built buy Hennie's son? Apparently they're popular in the Netherlands? Have you heard of them ? A good aero carbon build and only €600 http://www.kuipertrading.dk/producten2.php?id=FCC85:%2085mm%20Full%20Carbon

Nope, never heard of them, let alone seen them! :) But I'm not one to judge. I can't afford most of the handbuilt or custom stuff anyway, so I always stick with a few, very traditional brands that I know well. Mavic or Campagnolo would always be my first stop for wheels but of course the latter is of little use to you if you're after Shimano flavour. ;) Maybe others can help with their suggestions.
