Inspired by JSG's returning discussion of which teams have chalked up wins so far this term, and which will be the last to do so, I had an idea.

Why not stir up some friendly competition among the members here... which of our CQ teams will be the last to chalk up a win (I fear it might be mine...)?

Without scouring the spreadsheet, I won't know for sure, but I seem to remember Fus getting a winner in Gabon. Someone must have Gerro, too? Post below and I'll keep tally. Because this is more about the riders than the teams, unlike in JSG's main thread, I say that National Championships do count.

this might either be easier to monitor or take the fun out of it (if the fun is its up to the posters to work out if they have a winner yet.)

(CJ if you want to try and maintain it add winners name - as appears on CQ - in column E of the 2014 results tab, and add number of wins to column I.)

It is all about the points, if it was about wins the Tour would be between Cav and Kittel.. :fp

Which means that I think I was 2nd behind Arb :win 2nd

Well, the popularity of Luisle and both Aussie Champions, Michael Hepburn and Simon Gerrans means that - in actual fact - quite a few VR members have wins on the board for their CQ teams.

bicing and Trudgin get bonus points for having the only 2 unique wins so far - Kittel (in the People's Choice Crit) and Debesay (in the Tropicale!).

    It's a long season yet...

PS - If I've missed any VR members from the table in the OP just shout at me... I was wading through mc and skidmark's excellent spreadsheet and picking names from memory.

To be fair Kittel didn't score any points for his crit win so I'm not sure it should be counted as a win

I think I bit off more than I can chew by putting a flag column in... you can have 3 if you like - it was from memory more than anything else.

I hadn't realised the criterium didn't carry points. I'm happy to adopt whatever rule people think most appropriate. It was a real race, rather than a post-Tour crit, and it was against a full-strength, WT field. But it was only a crit. Should it count? (Bicing, obviously, might not be the most objective judge of this...)

I'm a 'nae' - shouldnt be too long before Kittel gets of the mark anyway but not for a 50k crit.

Need to add me, I am Afrank (on CN and in CQ games).

I say no to counting the Kittel's crit win, because CQ doesn't count it in their official victory rankings (in 2013 Greipel listed with 13 wins, including the pre down under crit it would be 14).

    January Update

As we have no more racing this month, and a busy February ahead of us, I thought I would do a quick count-up of this January's winners, and the VR CQ teams who get the bragging rights as we await the start of the European season.

The success of Simon Gerrans #champau in his homeland have put those teams with him selected out in front. 18 Valve, JSG and Dim all benefit. 18 Valve's selection of Lulu #cajarural, and JSG's of Cadel Evans #bmc keep them a point clear of our beloved leader, while August and Arbs can also hold their head up high after a successful first month of the season.

The popularity of Michael Hepburn #champau and Luis Leon Sanchez #cajarural mean that 18 of the teams on the current list of 30 have chalked up wins already. Bonus points to Trudgin (Debesay #mtn), Zam (Modolo #lampre) and Arbs (Porteborg #sky) who have unique winners so far.

Bicing will be weeping after popular consensus robbed Marcel Kittel #giant of his win in the People's Thingy Crit, but we can all expect to see the German featuring high up this list as the season progresses. Meanwhile I sit in esteemed company with the Velorooms collective team and 10 others who have so far failed to find the top step of the podium.

The season is still young - let's see what February brings.
