Not sure if this one goes in here or in the Tour de Suisse thread but what if he's not joking  :lol
(anyone checking the thread weeks later: this stage crossed the Furkapass and the Klausenpass ...this year's highest ride in the world tour.

I see that Libertine Seguros is getting some props on Twitter from the likes of Ross Tucker and others.

It would be fun to watch someone unknowingly walk into the lions den and debate LS, especially if the topic skewed towards racing history, along with the ethnic and linguistic background of various riders and fans. That would be worth the price of admission.

That is, indeed, an excellent post. Frankly, I am surprised. I go back to CN occasionally, seeking more frequent conversation, and within 5 minutes I am disenchanted by inane, irrational, and downright stupid posts. So, I never stay long enough to become anything more than a once a year, five minute, lurker. But this was an excellent post. Funny that, I remember Libertine Seguros, but I don't remember LS as being either a particularly persuasive poster, nor a negative force on the board. In short - my memory is neutral regarding Libertine.

However, the post is an excellent one.

Speaking of CN, has anyone kept track of Martin? I noticed a twitter prescence the other day, one that I think is the Martin that CN and VR knew and loved. Midge is another poster whom we have not seen here in a while - but who seems to be active on twitter. I may have to change my social media patterns.

Libertine Seguros is a very knowledgeable and generally well-articulated poster. She also does some great work with their Race Design thread.

Midge is very active on Twitter and also does stuff for VeloVoices, I think that's why she isn't as prolific a poster in here.

That was a very good post she wrote.  Like others I now avoid the clinic; about twice a week scan over less than half a dozen threads.  Very little of quality is posted there.

I like LS and virtually all she writes is worth reading but she has got the trajectory of Emma Pooley wrong and seems fixated on trying to make a narrative based on a wrong founding perception.  She hasn't worked out why Pooley was the "goto" girl for the jiffybag excuse.  Pooley was never asked if she had received the bag from Cope; Lawton had done his homework before he spoke to her.

Try and think what would have happened if Pooley was not date fixed at a race 1,000km away and could say said "yes, Cope did give me a jiffy bag". Think that one through real hard and get to the end.

Try and think why she might had responded in that way.  And for the answer to that we are back at the trajectory of Pooley through British Cycling.

And to understand that we are back with Sutton and a possible gold/silver plan in 2008.

Not saying this is how it is for CB but if I was a journeyman pro who signed on for a modest foreign CT team and held on for eight years while it became a WT monster and completely rebuilt itself around the sport's biggest star, I probably wouldn't appreciate being compared to Froome either, even if it is for a bit of a laugh. But then I probably wouldn't respond by defending Froome or indeed respond at all.

Wonder if CB has got a ride for 2019?

what´s mad, is the hate for Froome goes beyong anything and anybody. Benedetti has flip all to do with Froome, yet a twitter guy who, like other few dozens of people, remember that Froome got 85th in Poland 7 years ago, takes the time to joke about Benedetti and accuses him of omertá.
    Oufeh can well fyk off.

Seeing that the other day it brought up something I think about twitter which is unnecesary @ ing of people. The original tweet could have been made by saying Cesare Benedetti rather than @benedetticesare and so the original tweeter wanted him to see it and I actually think Benedettis response to being brought into it was fair enough.
