I hadn't bother to read that Jani interview until just now.

Quote
"It's hard to say anything [about Astana's situation]," Brajkovic said, clarifying that he is still under contract with the team until December 31. "I feel sorry for some guys on the team, because I know ... I'm never going to put a hand in the fire for them, but I know they're good guys and they follow the rules. I guess there are also some guys that should maybe leave the sport. It would be better for everybody," he said, refusing to name anyone specifically.

Well, well, well.  :-x

God, that team must be toxic.

The wildcard situation for the Giro (and Vuelta) has got very interesting. Could be a big year for UHC.

Not that interesting tbh. 2015 will be a learning year and he'll be helping out his teammates (Reijnen's last man?).

I was thinking, UHC was unusually visible during Dubai and then I realised: it's really the Class of Cannondale that made it so.

Two top tens from Ratto in the big sprints, Canola finishing top ten on GC and some of that magic dust rubbing off on Bazzana who, having donned pipe and slippers at UHC over the years, also managed the same feat and took the sprints jersey like a proper Sleeping Beauty.

This is all unusual, eye-popping stuff from UHC, of course, a team that's normally about as exciting at this level to watch as Novo-Nordisk in an ice-cream parlour, so it is tempting - and probably rather mischievous - to think of this outrageous display of priapic prominence as a simple case of "I'm a Euro-celebrity, get me out of here", a handful of stranded Italians desperate to get back to the sporting mainstream.

Decent start to the year for Tanner and it looks like PR is on the cards.

Yup, that's what you do in Paris-Roubaix. If there's any chance of making it, you make it - and you don't give a hoot about OTL: You reached the velodrome. :)

My stinging criticism in the Misc. American Tour Races thread has an immediate riposte from UHC.  :D

Tbf they have had some success this year, but not really in UCI races. Their crit team has performed well and Magner took the overall win in the USA Cycling Pro Road Tour (the new name in 2016 for the National Racing Calendar).

Things will be changing in 2017 though.

    Quote
We need results at the bigger US races like the Tour of California and Tour of Utah, so any domestic, and international, stage races we can do, we will do it. We have built a week-long stage racing team for next year. That will be the building block for us to eventually do a Grand Tour.
