 - Stauf
 - Lodewyck
 - Courteille
 - Voeckler (I assume...)

Fractured femur being reported for Emanuele Sella at Laigueglia

Last year was a terrible one for broken legs and I sure hope we don't see a repeat.

Fractured wrist and possibly foot as well for Kenneth Vanbilson in the Del Sol pileup. Lots of other injured riders.

    http://www.wielerflits.nl/nieuws/35309/marc-goos-dreigt-seizoen-te-missen.html

Hip complaints Marc Goos keep. The 24 year old rider has been running for two months on crutches and is expected to come for another four months there. The entire cycling season threatens to miss now.

"I can do nothing for the time being," says Goos at Omroep Brabant . "I may not burden my hip. Even physiotherapy is not in there. I have only myself to amuse, but I can not. That's pretty fliped up. "

The misery began in June last year. In the opening stage of the Tour of Switzerland broke the rider LottoNL-jumbo his hip. This also hit a blood vessel damage that controls the supply of nutrients to his bone. Which is now prohibited.

Because of the persistent complaints threatens to completely miss this season. "I get to hear the short term to see how the recovery further comes out. The final scans are analyzed and a path shall be determined on the basis thereof. "

    Well this sucks.

    http://www.etixx-quickstep.com/en/news/show/tom-boonen-injury-update-out-of-northern-classics/2124

    Quote
Tom Boonen Injury Update: Out of Northern Classics

Tom Boonen, who suffered a crash at the back of the peloton at Paris-Nice Stage 1 on Monday, was diagnosed with a left acromioclavicular (AC) joint dislocation after examinations were performed immediately at Centre Hospitalier in Blois. Boonen will have to respect a period of recovery for a minimum of three to six weeks.

"An AC-joint dislocation, as we've already seen with other riders of the team with the same kind of injury, requires an extended time of recovery due to the nature of the injury," Etixx - Quick-Step doctor Yvan van Mol said. "Unfortunately, because of the injury and the time it takes to recover, Boonen will not be able to participate in the Northern Classics. Tomorrow Tom will undergo further examination in Belgium to diagnose the grade of the dislocation and determine if surgery is necessary based on the grade."

More information will be provided in due time.

Richmond I guess, he already mentioned it as his main target for 2015 last year. It's a shame he will have to miss the classics though, he seemed to on the right track to be able to fight for the win again

yep His old man told the *be press today

The whole focus from now is Richmond

My guess he rides the Tour/Vuelta and indeed becomes that power guy to lead in Renshaw and then Cav, while looking at teh cobbled stage and breaks to get ready

Cofidis' Romain Zingle continues to suffer from an inflammation of the heart caused by a virus. The Belgian, who has yet to race this season, hopes to return in July but his recovery is both slow and uncertain:

"Week after week, I make progress, but I have to wait for the time being. It's serious. I pretty much knew I would be out six months. I already feel better, but it takes a long time. At the end of April we'll do a new MRI scan of my heart to see how the recovery is going. Then another in July. If it's good, I can cycle again."

However a week after that he had to have brain surgery to remove a cyst. As he says though, he was almost lucky he had the initial accident because otherwise they may not have been aware of it's existence.

    Prayers for Bonaventure

*rw Bonaventure Uwiyezimana (2014 Tropicale stage winner, Tropicale #white U25 jersey winner this year) crashed into a pedestrian on a training ride, was cleared of brain injury initially, then had a relapse.
Spent several days in hospital, doctors couldn't find anything at the time the blog was written. Now the team has to leave for a training camp (?) in South Africa and leave him alone to his recovery.
