As I understand it Polish Tv will be following the team around doing a Backstage pass this year and of course they are getting lots of Wildcards so we need a thread for some TinTin and Schumi love

  • Of course, if this turns out someday to be the industry standard integrated handlebar-computer-braking solution then I'll eat my kevlar-reinforced aerodynamic hat.

Yeah, and Polish National TV will show Tour de Suisse for the first time (most of the races are showed by Europsort while Polsat, previous sponsor of CCC, had rights for Suisse, Romandie, Gent Wevelgem and Worlds).

Rumours on Rowery that their will be a drastic reduction in the squad size of CCC going into 2017.

Their current set-up (almost a devo team within a PCT team) has 27 riders, but the rumours say they'll be going back to a pre-2015 level of anywhere between 16-20.

There are plenty of candidates of all ages for removal. ;)

Question is whether they'll cull the U23 talents or throw out some of the old ones.

Their move towards a bigger stature and GT wildcards has stalled somehow - since the 2015 Giro they haven't improved on that in any way. Could they return to a Polish focus with next to no foreign riders (they have 8 non-Poles this year), or do they simply cut some of the 'excess weight' in Polish equipiers?

How about option three. Keep the good riders and get rid of the crap ones.  :P

It's probably not as simple as that, but there's no point in throwing the baby out with the bathwater. In all four areas there are riders I would keep and some I would ditch. For example in the youngsters you would want to keep Banazek, Laton and Paluta whilst you may think of getting rid of Malecki and Brozyna. Same for the oldies. Keep Rebellin if he wants to continue but let Szmyd go etc etc.

So pare it down to 14 or 15 riders and then add in a few incoming transfers.
