#bmc Kilian Frankiny

Will do Utah & Colorado, probably Britain and a couple of one-day races in September/October, possibly Franco-Belge.
For 2016 he'll go back to #bmc Devo, but 2017 he could become a pro.

    even Colombia got one...

    #colombia Felix Baron

    “Baron is a rider who came into our attention in Colombia, thanks to his impressive physique and good skills as rouleur. We talked with President Beghini to take him to Italy and give him the opportunity to grow in a good environment, as the one provided by General Store, and now we are curious to see his progress and to test him in the pro peloton”, said General Manager Claudio Corti.

    Mühlberger is a talented rider, could turn into a good pro.
    But please, Gregor, lose the goatee! :o

    I'm pretty sure that it's Postlberger who has the beard!

    His results are less spectacular than those of Muhlberger, but they are still very good. He was the youngest ever Austrian RR champion and this year won a stage of the Osterreich Rundfahrt and also won the Ras. He looked very strong at the Ras, ending up riding on the front himself for long periods after his team were used up. I think he could do a good job on a pro team.

    As Leadbelly noted, it shows that there's quite a lot of talent coming through the Austrian Conti ranks that this guy isn't even the standout Austrian stagiare.

    Great news. He looks like a hugely promising rider. He split Flakemore and Kung on the U23 Worlds TT podium last year, despite being a couple of years younger. Pity there's no TT at Utah.

    I don't watch a lot of U23 as its not really on TV much but I have heard good things about Muhlberger and Postelberger, also Moscon and De Plus. As well as obviously Gaviria and Contreras. Anyone else worth a big shout?

    I think Tao is better than most of those. If he'll be able to show that at Sky is a different question...and he's probably still 1 or 2 years too young.

    Bohli seems to be a very promising rider as well. And also Mullen of course

    the team is getting international slowly and they seemed to have enjoyed the US race this year , pretty cool

    Although the teams haven't been announced yet, I've been reading that they (Caja) are riding the US Pro. However I see they're also on the start list for Limousin, so I guess we'll have to wait and see where the B-team end up.

    Did we know about Francisco Gaviria --> #etixx

    Stagaire + 2 years (according to PCS).

    The same Gaviria who outsprinted Cavendish twice in 3 days in San Luis earlier in the year.

    Kind of old news, was bounced about in spring already after his San Luis showing, but it's good to be repeated here for good measure.

    I'm on the fence regarding this one, it just feels a little bit like they pulled the trigger too quickly and rushed to sign him after a sh*t small pre-season race. But I'm happy to be proven wrong.

    Matxin really seems to have an influence on the transfer politics at #etixx - fairly unusual signings there with Martinelli and Gavira (and also more rumors about young riders from South America joing the team)

    Yeah, it felt like I already knew it...

    With Etixx taking the top two points scorers from the last Tour d'Avenir, both of whom are almost a decade younger than Cavendish, is this Lefevre future-proofing his squad, or is it an indication that the Manx Missile is set to be decommissioned?

    Romain Campistrous reports on his baptism of fire as a stagiaire with #ag2r at the Vuelta a Burgos:

    "I'm loving being a stagiaire. Friendly team, attentive management, great equipment and organisation ... and I'm learning stuff! That's one of the objectives but you also have to show what you can do. I'm a climber so I had to look after Pierre-Roger Latour [AG2R's neo-pro] as long as I could on the climbs. I tried ... but he's reached a much higher level (Latour finished 5th overall on GC). It's amazing how he's progressed in just one season as a pro!"

    Campistrous could only hang on for seven of the 13kms in the TTT.

    "The difference in rhythm and power is really crazy on the flat. Stages are raced really fast. Especially when, as in my case, you're trying to watch how guys ride in the peloton.

    "An amateur race is nervous and often uncontrolled. But with the pros, you have to know how to save energy and go full gas at the right time. I was used to riding up through the peloton alone either by the left or right side and taking the inside line on the corners. Sébastien Minard, with whom I was rooming, told me that I should stop doing that: riders come up through the middle, along with their teammates. I'll remember that next time!"

    Just to revisit this thread:

    Correct me if I'm wrong but I think so far that Robin Stenuit #wanty is the only stagiaire to have won in that capacity.

    He's 25 and was already at CT level but Schaal Sels was a nice win for him anyway, his fourth this year.

    Yup, forgot about that one. And I didn't include Avenir since riders there are not riding as stagiaires.

    Can't find any confirmation of these late bits (starting 1/9) of stagiaire news other than CQ, but...

    Rekita ----------> #trek

    Canty -----------> #drapac

    If Drapac have any sense they should probably sign up Canty full time (and if he has any sense he should refuse  :P). Did much better in the American races this year riding for Budget Forklifts and picked up a good TT win at TdB.

    They're on the UCI website too.
    Not that anybody ever looks there, which is quite telling in itself. ;)

    Rekita ----------> #trek
    This is a very weird one. Rekita has some half-decent junior results, but (apart from two U23 ITT *pl championships) next to no results as a U23. One of the Polish teams taking him on wouldn't be unusual - but a big WT squad?
    Maybe his uncle is the Polish Trek dealer ... :lol

    Pearson at Wiggins is presumably another late stagiaire or could it be a transfer(?), but info again is thin on the ground. You'd think there would be some tweet or press release about it.

    Tomorrow should be his sort of terrain, but in this weather.....
