    Yes[1]. I did look at it early on[2], Im not sure firstly how much the mod is actually maintained nowadays[3], and also theres the question of server load from people playing games. On the other side, people can compare high scores etc if they wanted to[4]

    That particular arcade is not for smf. the smf arcade hasnt had much done on it for about 2 years i dont think
     1. but.....
     2. but not for very long
     3. not much at all i dont think
     4. but my hunch is its a novelty that would quickly wear off

    probably just one for me, but i have a terrible memory and would love to be able to do some sort of bookmarking or favourites functionality

    would love to be able to mark certain posts to refer to later

    like Tokyobybike podcast, which i want to listen to but do not have time now. want to mark it so when i come back there is some sort of reminder to say here is something you said you wanted to look at

    if that makes sense

    theres the notify button, but that just notifies you of all new replies.. will look into it..

    in the meantime, that table above was created using the new csv tag (which is very much work in progress)..

    the tag is

    [csv=,]

    [/csv]

    and basically you just type your tables like so..

     title1,title2,title3
    joe, 2, 99
    fred,3,64
    mark,9,93

    and hey presto.

    title1title2title3
    joe 2 99
    fred364
    mark993

    and they are sortable.. i just need to check the javascript doesnt clash with larris existing scripts.

    there is a bb icon for it next to the current table icon.

    the csv=, tag indicates the seperator, you can make that csv=anything, but comma is probably easiest for consistency

    once ive got larri to check the js side of it, he may be able to edit the css to make it a bit more stylish

    and they are sortable.. i just need to check the javascript doesnt clash with larris existing scripts.

    Clashes will only occur when there are errors in any of the scripts, so if the author has written decent code we should not have problems. That said, I would prefer it if we bootstrapped the sorttable.js script. I'll explain that:

    Unless ram goes table-crazy, it's not worth having an ever-increasing list of .js files loading into the head on every page, particularly when the transformations they provide are not so often required.

    Instead we save on the bandwidth and browser memory until it's needed by sniffing for things first. If we find a match, we load the script dynamically and run it. Sniffing is one of the jobs of the VR script library.

    When you're happy with the styling and all that, let me know, and I will do the work.

    EDIT: Just thought - if this was a mod, bootstrapping is probably not possible because all the placement of assets is managed by the mod and messing with that might break it. Joy. :S

    ok. there is a bookmarks mod.. the coding is all fine, but for some reason the database query to create the relevant tables is not working. I need larri or someone to look at it

    Code: [Select]
    <?php
    global $db_prefix$smcFunc;

    $smcFunc['db_create_table']($db_prefix 'bookmarks',
    array(
    array(
    'name' => 'id_member',
    'type' => 'mediumint',
    'size' => 8,
    ),
    array(
    'name' => 'id_topic',
    'type' => 'mediumint',
    'size' => 8,
    ),
    ),
    array(
    array(
    'name' => 'bookmark',
    'type' => 'unique',
    'columns' => array('id_member''id_topic'),
    ),
    ),
    array(),
    'ignore');
    ?>

    I'll respond to this elsewhere. ;)

    i didnt even know we could embed google maps.. :D Its set at 1 because its the same mod that handles youtube, dailymotion embedding etc. And that was set at one to keep the number of videos people embed to a reasonable level.

    Ideally, it would be nice to get all the required embedding happening outside of avea mod, but theres also security issues with allowing plain old embed codes to be used. Will have a brainstorm.

    Was hoping there was a mod that would just handle embedding of google maps, that way could turn it off in the main mod and have the limits different.

    Ustream not embedding

    Ustream is not embedding because the implementation pattern in the Aeva mod is obsolete: Ustream has changed the way it does things since the mod was released and the mod has not been updated (looks like development on it has ended now anyway). This mod delivers a very simple principle using some pretty heavy programming. ;)

    I'm going to try to fix Ustream using another pattern for a reference but it will be difficult because I do not have any documentation on the regular expressions in use.

    Yeh, Aeva has moved away from SMF and is going to be part of Wedge www.Wedge.org which is an offshoot of smf where they are taking the existing smf code and developing into something like smf3 which is also in development (well its just appeared on github)

    wedge could be very interesting

    aeva allegedly supports ustream with lookups, but ive no idea what that means. I dont think it works,

    What I meant above is that it did work but Ustream has since moved on from the pattern the Aeva mod used to look up the videos to something different. I'm trying to figure out how to re-implement it because we need to have krebs' kitchen on here!

    Is there a reason why thankyous do not work on certain threads. We have noticed giro general discussion does not have it. Is here a max number for a thread?

    Ciao, Krebs!

    Recorded works fine. It's just that your URL isn't quite right. If you check the "Share" menu on the Ustream player, you'll see that it follows a very slightly different pattern.

    So what you had there (spaces added) ...

    http: // www.ustream.tv / recorded / 21206538

    ... should actually be ...

    http: // www.ustream.tv / embed / recorded / 21206538

    ... since the embed part is required no matter what. So now with the corrected URL, you have ...

    http://www.ustream.tv/embed/recorded/21206538

    More a query than a feature request, when does a race go into the vault? Could it have a larger window or the races all be shifted there en masse at the end of the season. Why do I ask? Well, I posted in the Tour of Korea thread to say that Lee Rodgers is a drama queen, but it's not likely to be read in the archive section.

    Just a bee in the bonnet.
