Tirol have changed their minds about participating, but added to the list are:

The reason being that the UCI denied a date change to June for the Tour of Austria. The hobknobs. :angry

Dimension Data ( :S), Movistar and UAE Abu Dhabi are the only three WT teams not riding Omloop.

Just waiting for the ten PCT teams to be announced now, but with a few assumptions (all the Belgian teams, Roompot, Cofidis and Direct Energie) there are only 3 spots left to fight over I think.

    Qatar to return in 2018?
    :fp :fp :fp

So why did they apply for (and receive) WT status, only to then have to say "no race in 2017" in November, and now say "maybe a race in 2018 again" in January?!

    :fp :fp :fp

They better not get WT status for that ever again.

Some more info on the Colly Classic.

    http://www.denverpost.com/2017/01/25/colorado-classic-2017-cycling-race/

    Quote
The Aug. 10-13 stage race — with pro cycling’s highest profile teams, a two-day women’s race, public riding events, live music and a rolling festival — will blend the best elements of Colorado’s lost Red Zinger Bicycle Classic, the Coors Classic and the USA Pro Challenge.

“Sustainability is the goal here” said David Koff

    http://www.velonews.com/2017/01/news/colorado-race-unveils-name-and-cities-now-seeks-title-sponsor_429014

    Quote
RPM’s original racecourse plans called for a hub-and-spoke model, with stages starting and finishing in metro Denver. Organizers opted for the new structure — which is comprised of three circuit races (stages 1, 2, 4) and one out-and-back course (stage 3) — to take advantage of Colorado’s challenging terrain.

The race has yet to release maps for each stage, but Koff said the opening three stages would include multiple climbs and challenging terrain. The race will invite 18 professional teams, and Koff believes at least six teams will be from the UCI WorldTour

Breckenridge was usually a good finish at the US Pro, so that'll be one to watch.

No real surprise there. #wanty had a very strong case with Martin, Offredo, Levarlet & several Belgian ex-WT riders (Dehaes, van Keirsbulck).

Oh, and #delko will have to look for another race to occupy themselves with in July now ... :shh ;)

There's something amusingly pointless about these staggered wildcard lists for the Belgian and Dutch classics. Did anyone think for a second that the Belgian and Dutch PCT teams weren't going to be invited?

The TDF wildcards were predictable but also sensible. The three bigger French PCT outfits plus a team that has been making considerable efforts to get one. That's a better approach than either only taking the local teams no matter how bad or alternatively going to the other extreme like RCS and pushing local teams to the wall.

The Paris Nice and Dauphine choices are very conservative though, all drawn from the same pool of the four French teams and Wanty. I'd much prefer to see a more eclectic set of choices, mostly of teams that didn't get a Tour invite. There are about ten PCT teams I'd take to these over any team with a Tour or Giro wildcard. The Dauphine is just a prep race to any team riding the Tour. It would be a season's main highlight for most others.

No. Nobody ever thought that. That's why they announce these teams first, and the foreign teams later.

But it's silly that they don't announce all wildcards at once.
Probably want to see how the candidate teams fare in the first races before deciding - that's the only explanation I can think of.

good line up there. It says "three more continental teams" could be potentially added, to be precisely, but they are waiting on the approval of the UCI. I don't know why though, I couldn't find anything about a maximum of 22 teams for a 1.HC race in the rules. Lukas may know, I guess
