So if that's true, Nibali stays.
Or if he doesn't, #astana are in deep, deep trouble.

Of course, if this turns out someday to be the industry standard integrated handlebar-computer-braking solution then I'll eat my kevlar-reinforced aerodynamic hat.

Anyone seen anything on likely longevity of Team Wiggins post the Olympics and the autumn 'lap of honour' on road and then track (The 6's etc)?

Think it will be without main sponsor and eponymous rider next year?  Is it going to continue as a non-Sky-branded-Sky feeder team?

Wiggo said it will continue and be a feeder team for kids. Not necessarily Sky but young Brits makes sense they go there. And also a team for older guys who don't fit in at WT level.

Wonder how the maths work out... he'll need a main sponsor, who will need the team to pick up some results to match the Wiggins name, in a calendar surely shorn of invites like the Tour of Cal without Sir Brad?  Could there be a development / nurture style transfer fee - if riders make the grade up to a pro-C or WT team?  Surely Riders just pack bags and go without compensation when that happens?

Future looks a bit grey - not desperate - just more difficult without Wiggins the draw on the road?

no news of the 3 "new" Alberto's De Jongh's and Bjarne's teams

so maybe Bahrein replaces IAM in the WT, but there's still a spot left if Tinkoff folds.

as I said, chances are high La Pomme Marseille might get a ride in the Tour 2017  :P

In other words, Team Hushovd is a stillborn. ;)

I don't think that iso much because of EBH. Hushovd's main problem is money not riders. There is only so much cycling-interested sponsorhip money available and in this country the races take a lot of it, and the teams get pretty much 0. The 2017 world championship landed a big sponsorship deal with the Norwegian Sea Food Council (markets fish etc outside Norway) which otherwise probably would have gone to Hushovd.
PS: Now that #iam folds, Hushovds house favorite Sondre Holst Enger (raised in Hushovd's part-owned  #sparsor team) will be available at below-market rates. No need to worry about riders..

    Sagan rumoured to Astana

    http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/sagan-in-talks-with-astana-for-2017/

very interesting, Specialized had just a contract with Etixx for 2017. that means Specy would re-up with Astana and bring Sagan. whatever happens, Sagan will ride Specy in the next years.

One thing I had wondered was whether Specialized might ditch some of their teams (etixx and Astana) and step up to becoming a full team sponsor of just one by taking over the WT licence of Tinkoff.

Was a ridiculous long shot in my head but I had thought it might be an option for them as it could keep the minvolved with Sagan and Contador.

Oh, I know it's about the money.
But if he had the money by now, he would certainly done all he could to sign one of the "big Norwegians", personal animosities notwithstanding.

As I said on Twitter, EBH re-signing with #didata is a sign that Hushovd couldn't offer him anything at this time of the year, and he took the safe deal with his current team (where he's quite happy anyway).
