Joseph Mauclair
« on: December 03, 2015, 06:21 »
In 1930 Joseph Mauclair and Jean Bidot travelled to Australia to compete in a Sydney to Melbourne road race against the Australians.  Joseph Mauclair won that race of over 700 miles.

Two bikes were locally made for each rider one was a Malvern Star the other a Speedwell.  The Speedwell was obtained from my father who raced it.   I restored the bike in the late 60's in it's original colors.  The bike is all original except to the rims and drive chain etc including the leather seat.

I am hoping that Mauclair family may still exist and I would be happy for them to know the bike he rode still exists and I would be happy to send photos.  If any one can assist please do so.
