I don't want to spend so much time during the season finding the best picks. But I also didn't want to just pick a couple of guys at random - I needed a 'theme' for my team.

Less than half an hour ago, I had an inspiration ... So here's "Team Not Europe".

    America:
    *co 6
    *usa 5
    *uy 1
    *ar 1
    *ca 1

    Africa:
    *za 6
    *er 2
    *na 2
    *et 1

    Oceania:
    *au 6

    Asia:
    *jp 1

The 7500-points limit is nowhere near a problem for us.
In fact, we come in at only 5850 points. :D

Split into teams, I get this:
    #didata 7
    #lampre 3
    #bmc 2
    #cannondale 2
    #movistar 2
    #orica 2
    #onepro 2
    #etixx 1
    #sky 1
    #trek 1
    #cajarural 1
    #marseille 1
    #direct 1
    #drapac 1
    #southeast 1
    #uhc 1
    #saganteam 1
    #sporting 1
    #stuttgart 1

*ve Vuelta al Táchira also starts on Thursday.

Okay, deadline is up! Congrats to Josedin who managed to get their team in on the deadline, to the minute!  :D Still 24 hours before publishing teams on this thread, please everyone.

My unofficial count for teams is at 138 right now. A few teams I've asked to resubmit because they had the wrong format, a few teams I've asked to correct riders that are duplicates or over the limit. All of these teams are included in the 138... if you sent a PM that got lost in the ether (or somehow overlooked by me, which happens when you get 60 entries in a 30-hour period), please let me know. You can tell because below I'm listing the teams that I have, in alphabetical order. If you don't see your team on there, drop me a PM. And if you have been requested to resubmit teams, I've sent you a PM, and I will have sent a confirmation PM to everyone else. So check your personal messages, please and thank you. Can't wait to start!

well, I'm very close to done the popularity tab entries, barring changes in the next 15 hours of course. Haven't reworked the most popular team tab to include new entrants this year (and there were lots), but it sure as heck looks like yours truly is gonna lead in that category once again. (ask mc though if you have doubts - I sent him my team with all the popular picks before I started processing teams, I swear I just have a knack for being unoriginal)

    Here's my team:

    33 riders

    - 4 neo-pros (there just weren't that many good ones this year)
    - 6 2nd-year pros
    - 6 3rd-year pros
    - 3 riders over 30, 2 of them over 35

    600-700 = 2 riders
    500-600 = 1 rider
    400-500 = 4 riders
    300-400 = 2 riders
    200-300 = 6 riders
    100-200 = 8 riders
    0-100 = 10 riders

If they all make 1000 profit, that's 8000 points that no-one else will get.

Of course, if they all get injured and score 0, no-one else loses out.

I guess we'll see if it's good or bad at the end of the season! :cool

How many Scottish riders, Trudgin? :shh

Just a couple, wee climber, time trialist type by the name of Ali McContador and his pal Sammy MacSanny... ;) ;)

ok so Scotland doesn't have a surfeit of top riders... we're better at other things, Caber Tossing and Haggis Chasing are two examples...... Once had to teach some gorgeous leggy dutch teenagers Caber Tossing at a big Scout camp in Sittard.... the innuendo was great fun.
