Wasn't going to do this until tomorrow, but here it is... first youth team

    Name points
    WÜRTZ SCHMIDT Mads   200
    OOMEN Sam   185
    MANNION Gavin   135
    CONSONNI Simone   121
    DE PLUS Laurens   109
    KÄMNA Lennard   89
    GOGL Michael   58
    LUNKE Sindre Skjøstad   26
    KOCH Jonas   25
    DE GENDT Aimé   14
    HOFSTETTER Hugo   8
    ARISTI GARDOKI Mikel   7
    RESTREPO VALENCIA Jhonatan   6
    KLARIS Magnus Bak   4
    GADAY OROZCO Julian Paulo   1

Torn between Kamp and Mads WS, went with the latter as I think he'll do better and perhaps be better supported on his level than Kamp at PC races.

Tried every which way to get Daniel Hoelgaard in as well, but was unwilling to drop Ooomen to do so.

I'm excited for this team, poss more than for my full CQ one   :cool

    MOSCON Gianni
    DE PLUS Laurens
    HAIG Jack
    KÄMNA Lennard

    HERKLOTZ Silvio
    GESBERT Elie
    CICCONE Giulio
    KOCH Jonas
    SCULLY Tom
    PEREZ Anthony
    BERNAL GOMEZ Egan Arley

First time I have been anywhere near the top of popularity rankings in one of these games (I'm 5th), and that despite having 2 unique picks.

I entered Bernal sort of accidentally, having forgotten that I had Rayane Bouhanni already listed as a freebie in my main game shortlist, but he slipped my mind when I sent this group in.  I was about to make the swap, when I found a lovely post from Flo praising Bernal as a good find of great potential, and didn't have the heart to switch him out after that.

And I can now reveal that Consonni is the rider that I selected who is on a team for 2017, not 2016.

Well jsg is effectively being fined 30 'odd' points to include him and clearly it's a rider he is aware of - works for me.

Doesn't necessarily stop him being a good pick - he could easily pick up more u23 points a year on and lampre might still draft him in come August.

Some things that caught my attention:
    Postmanhat's very British team
    Arb finding Ilnur's little brother
    Snccdcno/Murrjt picking an unknown Iranian :S :D
Karaev1 selecting a rider that already scored points :o (that's right, we already have a leader)
Guilherme Ribeiro initially sending in a 12 rider team worth under 400 points :D after some encouragement from my side he hesitantly picked 3 expensive riders to fill up his team :P

Good job Flo getting all the work done. Now you just need to steal that CQ Organizer/Moderator tag off MC.

    BIALOBLOCKI Marcin
    GAVIRIA RENDON Fernando
    MOSCON Gianni
    DE PLUS Laurens
    ANDERSEN Asbjørn Kragh
    KORSAETH Truls Engen
    VAN GESTEL Dries
    VAN ROOY Kenneth
    FARAZIJN Maxime
    HOFSTEDE Lennard
    PEARSON Daniel
    BRKIC Benjamin
    SANCHEZ VERGARA Brayan Stiven
    GIRDLESTONE Keagan
    CARAPAZ MONTENEGRO Richard Antonio

My youth team is definitely much stronger than my main team even though a lot of it is made up of riders who I had on my long list for the main team and discarded for various reasons.

Unique picks of Bialoblocki and Sanchez. Surprised I'm the only one with Marcin (though he doesn't really fit into the mould of a youth rider) and I've said it before that I could see Sanchez doing better than Acevedo at Jamis (he's quit the track to focus on the road).

Despite them doing crap last year for me, I've ended up again with two Scandi riders - Truls and AKA. They should do better (or else....)

Hofstede should (hopefully) be the Rabo lead climber for the season. Worked for Oomen last year, so fingers crossed it's his turn now.

Girdlestone hasn't signed for anybody yet, but I'd be surprised if DDDevo don't pick him up. Even if he ends up riding for an amateur French side he should still rack up a few points.

Some Belgians blah blah blah Topsport blah blah blah.

Some random promising youngsters to round it out - Brkic, Pearson (even though he rides for Team Wiggins now *shudder*) and Carapaz.

Also a thumbs up to whoever picked Turek, Lemus, Gaspar, Carpenter and Kolahdouz (Murrjt).

Consonni is riding u23 again this year.

Yeah I know... but he scored well at that level last year, nothing to stop him matching or exceeding it this year, and who knows what will happen in August. The team is built for fun and I don't expect to double points, it's really just a way for me to get into U23 racing a little deeper  :)

    Here's me:

    SMITH Dion   178
    GAVIRIA RENDON Fernando   151
    CONSONNI Simone   121
    HAIG Jack   96
    KÄMNA Lennard   89
    ANDERSEN Asbjørn Kragh   83
    MARTIN Guillaume   61
    HERKLOTZ Silvio   52
    LAMMERTINK Steven   46
    MULLEN Ryan   44
    AMEZQUETA MORENO Julen   33
    RYBALKIN Aleksey   23
    VAN HOOYDONCK Nathan   17
    KLARIS Magnus Bak   4
    COSTA Adrien   0

First of all, shocked that no one took Kamp; I had him on and then went with Smith (this is in the 15 minutes I had time to work on this) instead, but Kamp looked promising. I guess the 'high' price tag is a turnoff. Smith should be interesting, I dunno what kind of races ONE will be invited to, but he seemed to do incredibly consistently the last two years, always placing highly. The american scene is different of course, but the competition was good in some of those races. And he's only picked by two teams!

Second, I didn't know Consonni was going back to U23 this year! Oops. Could still be a fine pick though, if he performs as last year and then shows his worth in Italian races at the end of the season as a stagaire, a la Villeila or Battaglin.

Other than that it's mostly guesswork, picked some guys on my main CQ team because if I believe in them there, I might as well double down.

Astonished I'm the only person to have picked Geoghegan Hart  :o
Was going to be smug about having Basso as a unique pick too but now suspect he doesn't have a team for 2016.

ah, nice, another team to unveil :)

                TOTAL      ø 22.6                  997

I hope they will not do too bad. No idea how many UCI race little Duarte will do though, not too many I fear. I was close to pick Diniz for my main team, but as there was no real space for him I had to take him for the youth game at least - surprised to see 9 others did so as well.

Moscon will be interesting. I picked him for my main team but now thinking he might have a difficult year as a Sky dom.

Would be great to see Adrien Costa get some results but might be a bit early for him. Guerreiro I have high hopes for (despite not picking him :fp).
