Azevedo denies the team is disappearing. We'll have to see if OnTimeSports jumped the gun or not.

The whole thing does smell worse than usual to me. Getting busted literally on your first day with a new team along with one of your new team mates.

Of course the team manager would say that. And he may be right that they haven't lost sponsors, or have had the UCI deny their PCT application.

    Yet.

#androni were suspended for a month after their "3 cases within a year". This is "3 cases within a week". I mean, come on!
Even if the team should get a PCT license again, and "only" gets suspended for a month or two, they're effectively done. Which rider or race would voluntarily apply to the team?

ProConti license confirmed for Wallonie Bruxelles who (as reported in the sponsorship thread) will race as WB Veranclassic Aqua Protect next year.[1]
     1. WB stands for Wallonie Bruxelles, obviously.

Wow, that's some seriously awkward HTML code! :o

It makes me sad that people still get to con riders into signing for teams that don't exist and never will. :(

#onepro will drop down to Conti level in 2017.
First the weak Pound Sterling dealt them a blow, then Factor Bikes jumped ship in October and went to #ag2r, leaving the team with a hole in the budget that they couldn't cover.

    Surprisingly good news about Verva.

The lack of transfer talk in one way was worrying, but on the other hand if they were folding you'd have thought we would have had more outgoing rumours as agents hawked riders around. Money sounds tight though so dropping down to CT still could be an option and if they do stay at PCT will they be able to expand their calendar?

BTW is there any public Stolting news Fus? Will the team continue? Any incoming transfer news?

A new Costa Rican CT team could be in the offing. It's Grupo Colono which Brenes has been riding for this year since the demise of Coopenae. If they do make the step up, let's hope they last a bit longer than that team.

Make that two potential Costa Rican CT teams. Nestle-Giant unsurprisingly would like to join them. Is it just for the Tour de Costa Rica though or will it mean we see them elsewhere around the Americas?

Still a big old silence on the Verva front.  :S

It would be symptomatic of their communication problems if they ceased to exist and didn't actually bother to tell anyone about it. Let's hope the riders, for their sake, are privy to more information than we are. No transfer news hopefully means that they are.

From the team though only Koch and Cieslik I think would have a chance at signing for another PCT, so the others are maybe just more resigned to their fate - whatever that is.

Chinese registered, and mostly Chinese money?

Australian Riders: Harrison Sweeney (QLD, 18) and Robert Stanndard (NSW, 18) – more to be named following Australian season performances.

Chinese Riders: Xue Chaobua (24), Qin Chenlu (24), Xue Fuwen (20), Liu Hao (28), Sun Xiaolong (22) and Bi Wenhui (23). Additional TBC.

Week 1 - Stannard changes nationality
Week 2 - Stannard changes team
Week 3 - Stannard changes his name?

    It's a big old mess.
Very sad, the sponsor seemed to have big plans; but the team's performance - results- and communications-wise - was underwhelming at best.

Fair play to PCS. I know he has his detractors, especially about how he comes over on Twitter, but I think he does care about cycling. Hopefully they'll sign some interesting riders.

That's pretty cool. I'd read that they were trying to form "Team Second Chance" for pros without contracts this year, funded mainly by small contributions from fans. I guess that was never really viable and they couldn't find other backing, so I'm glad they've got involved with another project instead.

A possible Chilean CT team in 2018, but just small steps at first. They raced at Tachira and want to ride Venezuela, Colombia and Costa Rica this year.
