That would mean #astana had no big star to speak of. Superman Lopez isn't there yet, neither is Valgren, and for the rest of the team, I just don't see it ever happening.

Beppe Conti, right? So these are about as "true" as ... well, I don't have an analogy, really. That's how little importance Beppe's ramblings have.

Froome going elsewhere is probably the one that could have the most substance, I would say.

I don't. But it's Lefèvere ... I just don't see that team folding or scaling down.

Beppe's 'rumours' are usually made up by himself. They're not always wrong - but they're hardly ever right.

#bmc are after 2 classic doms to help GVA they are wanted like Oss to be there at the end of races, who are you going after, if you are BMC?

The kids are developing but a bit too slow for 2018

    Philippe Gilbert. :D

Trentin springs to mind if it's more a dom they're looking at. With some uncertainty surrounding the future of Quickstep he might be persuaded to get something signed early rather than wait about for Patrick to get something sorted.

Kwiatkowski if they're wanting a bigger name, but then they could have the same trouble they did when Phil was about.

Anyone with a similar role on other teams who will be released at end of this year? The list isn't really short....

isn't it?! I would think it's very short. There are maybe a handful guys around with the qualities of Oss. And even guys like Trentin (who somehow fits that criteria) will hope for a leadership role first.

Maybe they can get Roelandts though. Lotto didn't sound too happy with his performance lately

    Trentin, definitely.
If Vandenbergh were available, him too, but he's bound to #ag2r and Naesen.
I'm also a big fan of Nils Politt, but I believe he's contracted to #katusha for the foreseeable future.
Roelandts? Maybe. Personally, I think he's cut out for more than a classics-superdomestique role - but he needs to show his quality to get the chance to have a team at his disposal.

The list will be extremely short - maybe 20-30 names in total, of which 15-20 will have contracts for 2018 already.
So you have 5-10 guys to choose from ... this could become expensive for Rihs & Biver. :betting
