Not "another WT team announcement" today:

Shake up of the hierarchy amongst the Norwegian conti teams?

#joker Joker used to have a subscription for all the best riders in their best years (before some of them turn pro) but now top talent is goining to #unox Uno-X development team. As there usually isn't a lot of money involved at this level, it might be that former #sky DS Kurt Asle Arvesen (also a TdF stage winner and multiple timesNorwegian champion) in the team's management is what turns the tables.
Arvesen also works as an expert commentary for Eurosport, and in the past 2 months there have been a trickle of advertising money leaving TV2 in favor of Eurosport (thanks for less Malta-based gambling ads!), with Uno-x (the business) now sponsoring Eurosport cycling coverage instead of  TV2.

Transferwise:
Tobias Foss #joker --> #unox
Andreas Leknessund  (club) --> #unox
Idar Andersen (club)---> #unox
Iver Skaarseth (club) ---> #unox
Sindre Kulset   (club) ---> #unox

That's almost the entire next generation top talent from Norway, coming to a racecourse near you. Leknessund and Andersen in between them have an impressive list of good results internationally this year.

update:

Added gold medal European championship ITT (juniors) to Andreas Leknessund's palmares  :cool  That means we now formally write:

#champeu Andreas Leknessund  (club) --> #unox

    Interesting about Gallopin ...

    as far as Barguil going to Fortuneo-Oscaro ...  :o     It does make me chuckle. He says he wants to try for GC:fp  He saw very clearly how much some teams struggled even with medium/good domestiques - and he signs for a pro conti squad who have never achevied anything ... ever ... and with no hope of any actual support.

    Yes he will be the outright team leader - but that doesnt help much if you have no domestiques to help you achieve anything.

    If he "tries for GC" the way he did this year, he won't need (many) domestiques. He entered the top-10 almost by mistake! :D

    #movistar Movistar always impress me with their transfer activity... Soler, Arcas, Barbero, Sütterlin and Nuno Bico have all come out of left-field in many ways over the last few seasons. Different stages of their development, but I wouldn't say any have been duds[1].

    Roson and Sepulveda both seem to be in that same mould... With Valverde's injury and the sudden realisation that they are leaning a little too heavily on Nairo, this could end up being Unzue's most important transfer window for many years.
     1. Bico has been injured most of this season, but he started well

    it was about time for Bardiani to sign some decent riders I guess...

    #bmc Manuel Senni --> #bardiani Bardiani CSF

    Quote
    Quotes from Bruno and Roberto Reverberi, managers of Bardiani-CSF

    “We really wanted and looked to have Manuel in our roster for 2018. He’s a young rider but already experienced and his rider profile is perfect for the #GreenTeam project. Year after year he showed to have the right potentiality to stand out. Becoming professional and riding three years in a top team such as BMC is not a chance for everyone. We didn’t offer him just a contract but, above all, an opportunity. Manuel has a lot of ambitions, our team too: we’re happy and ready to pursue the same goals”

    Quotes from Manuel Senni

    “I’m really pleased that Bardiani-CSF pushed deeply to sign me. I feel already a lot of trust around me and it’s big stimulus, both to finish this season with BMC in the best way both to start a new phase of my career”.
    “I talked with Reverberi and Zanatta, expert and capable team directors that, I’m sure, will support me in the best way. They explained me the #GreenTeam project and the benefits I can have with this team. Bardiani-CSF is a solid structure with an important racing schedule, two perfect factors for a young rider like me who looks for a quality step”.
    “In BMC I earned a huge experience. I raced several World Tour races, I learned looking great champions, their attitude in terms of preparation, training, nutrition and off race life. These knowledges will be the starting point of my new experience and I hope could be useful also for my new teammates”.
    “I don’t feel the passage from World Tour team to a Professional one like a step back, but only as a new chance. In Bardiani-CSF I will have more freedom and opportunities to stand out. I feel my growth is not finished yet and I want to reach the top to establish myself in cycling elite. I’ve a dream, the same of the #GreenTeam: being protagonist at Giro d’Italia. I hope to make it real already in 2018”.

    Ah, yes, Monsieur Barguil. Please note my earlier post about this very topic! We all seem to agree - GC? WTF?  Check out this take, though. I like it - it fits:
    Quote
    After six years with the Sunweb organization, Warren Barguil will leave for Fortuneo-Oscaro in 2018. I know what you’re thinking — going from WorldTour to Pro Continental is a downgrade. But this is actually a killer move. Fortuneo-Oscaro is easily one of the most French of French pro teams, what with its odd kit colors and unpronounceable sponsors. (Hey, at least it isn’t Bretagne-Séché Environnement any longer!) The 23-man team was all French except for four riders this year. So it’s a perfect fit for Barguil, the emotive, plucky Frenchman who just won the polka-dot jersey. Better yet, he won a stage on Bastille Day. It’s a grand-slam of French-ness. Mark my words, in two year’s time, Barguil will be just as big as Thomas Voeckler. And most likely, he’ll win the same number of grand tours (zero).

     #orica Magnus Cort --->  #astana Astana

    Danish Coffee Club in full swing (though not entirely sure Breschel will stay, only a 1yr contract)

    https://twitter.com/AstanaTeam/status/894468837915193344

    I don't quite know what to make of this tbh. In some ways it makes sense. AST get a sprinter for the hard finishes (but will they ever back him above Minali/Gatto). They get someone who will fit into the classics team (but in what role?). They get someone to roule in the GTs and maybe pick up a win (but will they devote any riders to help him?). I can see why Astana would want him.They'll maybe score early WT points before the GT season, but at present I don't quite see what Astana will do for him. As much as there are other Danes, the team is GT and Italian-centric, that's not me having a go, it is what it is. I may be doing them and Cort an injustice, but the jury's out until 2018.
