There must be some zero point vikings.

Yep... I can give you a hint about a former pro conti rider that was sick most of the year: Fredrik Strand Galta will take a few points more if he can find his way back to full health and keep his motivation.

Rein Taramae , or Mads Wurtz or Narvadauskas

Forget , my bet is on Sven Erick Brystrom.

For the 3rd captain, the choice is far more obvious than these connoiseur choices   :P

I haven't looked back to check for sure, but I'm almost certain that every single Scandi I've ever picked in both main and youth CQ has bombed. Some wannabe comedians might say of course that my entire team has bombed on occasion!

So no Danes or Swedes or Norwegians for me this year. I've learnt my lesson.

Though my youth team might have a Viking.  ;)

World domination is easier if you use your full allocation of 33 riders. :P

There are. I can think of two without even trying. But I won't help out our Norwegian frenemy. :P

Things I am interested to see when all is revealed in about 24 hours:

How many people have picked my 1st, 3rd, 6th, 8th and 9th most expensive picks, if I have any 'big' riders that are not popular it will probably be them.

There is one particular rider I went back and forth on for a while but decided against and I reckon anywhere between 30-100 people might have selected him, as you can tell from that wide range I chose I am still no nearer knowing whether I should have picked him or not.

I've submitted my team, hopefully in time.

I did not follow cycling or the game last year due to personal tragedy but I just discovered I had my best ever showing last year while not paying attention :lol

I think half my team has been in a previous CQ team of mine. And I picked a few riders I've never heard of who looked like they did well last year and cost the right number of points.

Thanks skidmark and everybody who helps run this game.

And hello to all Veloroomies :)

That is correct for the main game (CET time).

Got 128 teams, and two teams that have said they would send a team by the deadline (but they only have 90 mins left!!)... we are juuuust behind 2012 (129 teams) as the lowest participating total other than year 1, but it's in the ballpark of all the rest of the years (133, 144, 151, 155) so it seems like things are still going strong, especially with the early deadline and the fact that VR was down for ten days right in the big hype season. That said, there are some long-term players I haven't heard from and doesn't look like I will. Hope I can get a couple more in before the deadline!

I have seen a bit of talk that this was a hard year for picks, and I'm curious to see if this means there are fewer unanimous 'popular' picks. I've just started entering the popularity data, and between the first two teams there are 12 riders in common, which doesn't seem like a lot. I personally think there were so many tempting upper-range guys (like, 400 points and above, with lots in the 600-900 range especially) that there might not be that much consensus. Exciting!

It's 23:59 CET on the 3rd, which means it's publication deadline! No more changes, no more teams, feel free to post and discuss starting now.

I'm working on the popularity tab and am about 60 teams in, will try to get done before I have to go out for dinner but it's more likely it'll be up in about 7 hours or so. Until then, let's just have some discussion. Good luck everyone!
