    I don't. :angel

And I don't know whether to kick myself for that, or pat my back for choosing not to profiteer off Adriano's 2016 misfortune in such a despicable way. :S

How many people have picked my 1st, 3rd, 6th, 8th and 9th most expensive picks, if I have any 'big' riders that are not popular it will probably be them.

Closest I came was your 3rd rider. I switched him out yesterday after a lot of heart searching

Update - I have entered alot of teams into the popularity tab but am not done! I will have to do it later tonight (I'm on the west coast of Canada currently and am about to go out for dinner). Looks like there might only be 1 or 2 riders in over 100 teams this year. The top pick is pretty far ahead and is likely one that most people could predict. Same with the second and third most popular as of now.

Any guesses as to the top 5 or 10? They'll be up in a few hours.

    Also, here's my team:

    NIBALI Vincenzo   1217
    ARU Fabio   777
    KWIATKOWSKI Michal   611

    GANNA Filippo   40
    ARREDONDO MORENO Julian David   17
    DOULL Owain   7
    MALORI Adriano   2
    CINK Ondrej   0

Too busy now to get into the selections, but of course I would love to talk at length about them soon enough.

I will address a comment by LucasCPH upthread - I never thought about Malori that way; for me it is a good way of affirming my belief that he will come back to his previous level, and being excited to cheer for him in real life as well as this game. I picked him actually against my logical judgement (as logical judgement suggests to me that he won't reach his previous level this year), in a departure from my normal method. I guess we just have different perspectives on that.

Okay, here's the full (barring any mistakes) spreadsheet. I haven't erased the tabs for old teams yet, and for some reason only 129 teams are listed on the rankings page, even though I counted 131 during entry process and copied 130 to the popularity page. Something must've gotten miscounted, so let me know if you're not there!

I have had trouble making the pivot table for rider popularity - I did it last year, figuring it out as I went, but am having trouble replicating it. If someone is interested in doing that and sharing that file back to me on this thread, that'd be great as I'm done for the evening. Cheers! (although I also copied this comment on the CN forums so check there too to see if anyone has made that table)

Other than my undying loyalty to Alberto, my attempt at absolute randomness  :D :D :D four  or five bigger riders carrying good number of points and lots of little ones. I'll either win or come dead last. I have hopes of Taylor Phinney and Mikel Landa bouncing back from terrible years like Kittel did last year, Kittel too expensive now. Bonne Chance mes ami

6 Unique for me including my 2nd most expensive pick

but CINK Ondrej is unique and I know that is a mistake

I have 8 riders in single digit for Uniqueness

    ZAKARIN Ilnur   867
    JUNGELS Bob   864
    ARU Fabio   777
    LOPEZ MORENO Miguel Angel   763
    KRUIJSWIJK Steven   594

    WOODS Michael   338
    HAUSSLER Heinrich   322
    SPILAK Simon   301
    KÖNIG Leopold   264
    MARTIN Guillaume   227
    DILLIER Silvan   190
    GROSSSCHARTNER Felix   167
    SOLER GIMENEZ Marc   155
    NORDHAUG Lars Petter   154
    DEMPSTER Zakkari   144
    PIBERNIK Luka   134
    VALLS FERRI Rafael   129

    RODRIGUEZ SALAZAR Jhon Anderson   11
    BOUHANNI Rayane   5
    MALORI Adriano   2
    CINK Ondrej   0

    See how we go

Kwato and Landa I decided against early on just not sure Sky is the right team for them, could be huge mistakes but ......

Kerrison is my fanboy pick and Pellaud and who doesn´t think Barbie might just win a big one ;) the knee op was not the best news to read yesterday

I bascially went CQ / Climber types

My big questions were around Nibs and Porte

I went nibs last year and I do think Porte will win TDU and P-N and if he podiums Daulphine and TDF will be a miss, not sure about Nibs

In the end went lots of expensive GC types 90% of whom seem to be riding the Giro - which is dumb but then they might ride the Vuelta as well which is good

Forgot to say I like my team :lol

Roar Like A Lion - popularity breakdown

    Ranked 99th

    Top 5
    Name
    Degenkolb115
    Viviani103
    Malori94
    Gougeard74
    Breschel26

26 lovely people have chosen #SpecialBreschel, this makes me both :D and :angry. On paper he has a supporting role at Astana so we'll see how much of a chance he gets to run for himself. All those Danes on the team and the fact that Astana are PDR regulars means I'm banking on the King of Kiddesvej to increase his record breaking tally of wins. I want EVERYONE'S fingers crossed that he gets through a season with no illnesses and spills.

I've 7 riders under 20 points. No Unique picks this year :angry, but I have 19 in single digits  :cool
    NameTeamNo
    Westra #wanty9
    Baska #bora8
T Ludvigsson #fdj8hoping for TT points at least
    Bohli #bmc7
Guerreiro #trek7goes along with the other Trek neo Mads P.
    Fraile #didata5 Vuelta repeat please
    Manzin #fdj 5
Eiking :luv #fdj5he's hoping for Giro this year
    Pinot #fdj4
Hoelgaard #fdj4Demare can't do it all
    Offredo :cheer #wanty3
    Cunego  :S #nippo3
    Jensen #coop3
    tick tock Bauer #quickstep2
    Calmejane #direct2
    Hofstetter #cofidis2
    Teklehaimanot #didata2
    Juul Jensen #orica1
    Errazkin #wilier1

This is a first time for picking a rider worth more than 1000 points. Tibbles had a great season up until Nat Champs last year, and it's a big risk that he won't improve his score. But, I do have faith. He's finally got his Giro wish and hopefully will go on the rampage in France. No Criterium International this year BOOO.

The other big spends were Superman Lopez (taken in preference to Birdsong  :o, see I'm not completely mad) and Degs.  I did splurge a little on Stuyven, but think there will be enough for both he and Degs to share.

These ensured that I had less to spend on the middle order this year. Have to say this made the job a lot easier in a way, no dallying about the likes of Benoot etc. Though it also meant I could not squeeze Wout Van Aert in and he definitely tops my list of rider's I wish I had picked.

I wanted an out and out sprinter and ended up with three. Viviani  is good value, come on Sky get that lead out nailed. Young Manzin was improving last year, as were FDJ's train, and I definitely stole young Planckeart from the Collective Wisdom team.

I have a trio of riders where I'm hoping a change of scene will do the trick...WGG duo Westra & Offredo, and Jack Bauer at Quickstep

Chis JJ is a total heart pick. One I may pay for but will never regrest. Tour of Luxembourg and Japan Road Race heroics bumped his price at the end of the year. However, I'm hoping he'll rock the Nat Champs TT and have my fingers firmly crossed for a Team Danmark spot PostNord Danmark Rundt.

Clearly this will be a boom or bust year, but I'm growing to love the bunch already :D

I can not see the Value in Benoot at 588

But I picked Jungle Bob so what do I know  :lol

But LOOK at him, Jungel Bob is GO

FDJ? I think they look really weak and that the youngsters will get plenty of chances especially with Pinot doing Giro/Tour.

My team.. as you may know I started panicking a few days ago as the deadline approached - as a result I now have a load of Italians and 4 Swiss :o
I had too many points left so switched Bonifazio for Ewan...  :o
I still had too many points left and somehow ended up with a bunch of kids (Albanese, Gaudu, Page)  instead of Mosca, Dombrowski, Boaro :?

Anyway here they are (I had to use ` as an apostrophe because the table wouldn't work otherwise)

Ok obvious pick out of the way :)

Yes, Matti had a season blighted by illness (whole of the spring campaign), and a fall resulting in lacerated muscles in the TDF which ruled out the autumn. Things can only get better \o/. I didn't know about Zardini, poor guy. Malo  :niceday
