Ozgur setting the early pace with quite a tactical team of five big names and lots of cheap potential assist riders.

    DDV up next.

With the back up riders getting their chances in DDV it isn't surprising that not so many points were scored in this race. Only Murrjt I believe had Lampaert in his team and you were doing well if you had three or more scorers.

Black Eyes took the honours on the day with Gilbert and Breschel top scoring. However it was second placed Russell who took over the overall lead mainly thanks to Durbridge.

Some of the same riders from DDV did well in E3 too - Gilbert, Naesen and Durbridge. Winner on the day Omer Ozden had the first two of those and added GVA for good measure. Russell was again second on the "stage" and thus extended his lead significantly to over forty points.

The fairly rare pick of Keukeleire (but not as rare as I imagined) helped Arley Hidalgo to rise to the top for this race. Beating into second place, yep you guessed it, Russell again. He'll get a (deserved) stage win soon.

Category 1 RVV is up next, so lots of points available.

A lot of facepalming must have been going on when Sagan and co crashed yesterday, but I'm not so sure it has had that much effect as a lot of us had all three (including myself) and I'd be surprised if anyone (other than Trudgin possibly?) had less than two of those involved.

Russell finally got his win and now enjoys nearly a hundred point gap over his next realistic challenger.

Cheers for the updates. Going really well for my team so far but not getting carried away. Trying to resist making too many transfers as have struggled with the Ardennes in past seasons. May mean a good chance of no points for Schelderprijs....

I've been trying to save them as well (mainly due to the AGR finish changes), but things would have been looking even ropier for me if I hadn't brought in GVA and Durbridge for RVV. Top twenty is my not so lofty target now.

How could I forget about Scheldeprijs...........  :P

It looks like a few spent a transfer bringing Kittel in for this one race. Personally I think it was worth it for an almost guaranteed 25 points, but the crash showed that anything can happen. Ciclismo2005 won on the day matching up Roelandts with the big German.

Russell is still out top and with transfers to spare. That can't be said for many of the others towards the top. So there could be plenty of changes below the top spot when we get to the Ardennes.

    Cobbles done and dusted (literally).

Some new faces making an appearance at the top of the day's scoring. "Mainstream" Trudgin topping the pops with three (GVA, Stuyven and Moscon) of the five that contested the finish. Russell still top in the overall GC.

The Arrow is up tomorrow, so no time for resting on laurels.

Murrjt had enough transfers left to almost completely change his team over for the hillier races and that foresightedness enabled him to get first place on the day with an impressive 94 points. Even more impressive in a way was second place Black Eyes who scored 91 points despite not making any transfers recently!

    Russell still leads.

AGR on Sunday, so a couple of days left for me to ponder over whether to stick with GVA or switch to Valverde. Can't quite make up my mind.
