Of course, if this turns out someday to be the industry standard integrated handlebar-computer-braking solution then I'll eat my kevlar-reinforced aerodynamic hat.

It appears that at 6.6W/kg for 24 minutes, Piti's performance today was pretty damn amazing.

I actually thought that Marc Soler was the strongest rider on that mountain, today.

Yes the climbs are way too easy and way too far from the finish..... And he doesn't have the legs, and he'll have both Movistar and Sky chasing him ;) I predict an attack that lasts 10 whole seconds.

The race split on a tricky descent and Froome and Sky were caught napping. The gap gradually increased to about 2 minutes and then they threw in the towel.
Then a few hours of :zzz2 , a slightly eek-y descent in some parts and an escape by Cataldo and De Marchi, who were caught on the line by the group. Impey won the sprint.

A pity Froome and the boys weren't in this crowd, given his words of support for imposing the rule, after the fact. :D

Lots of attacking the final circuit up to MontJuic.  Froome, Valverde, Contador, Dan Martin and a bunch of others all had a go.

Dan Martin and Valverde got away for a few seconds gap.  Valverde held on to win (just) with a good sprint.

IMHO one of the best races with the worst TV coverage available  :cool

    A few honorable mentions:
#fdj David Gaudu now I understand why the hype on the FDJ website has been going on for months
#movistar Marc Soler must be the best climbing gregario out there, future skytrain derailer? If it is not
#trek Jarlinson Pantano (although Trek needs to figure out more ways to use him tactically - they have rehearsed attack con Pantano in both French and Spanish now....)
#movistar Alejandro Valverde: which Grand Tour will he be riding this year - cause right now only Quintana is possibly at the same level!
